The Phoenix Suns will be without all-star forward Amare Stoudemire for about four months after he underwent surgery to repair damage to his injured left knee Tuesday.

The extent of the injury was determined during "diagnostic" surgery by team doctor Thomas Carter, who then proceeded with the repair, Suns president Bryan Colangelo said.

Stoudemire, who turns 23 next month, signed a five-year, $73 million contract extension last week, the maximum allowed under the NBA's collective bargaining agreement with the players union.

Wow, that's a really bad break. They might not even make the playoffs this year, Q, JJ and Amare all gone. Sheesh.

Should be interesting to see how Nash plays with all these players gone. Bad break for the Suns, Stoudamire is one of the top 5 or so players in the game.

NO MVP for Nash this year...Suns gonna be average.

Well Amare should be back after the All-Star break if everything goes as planned. So the Suns will definetly start out average and maybe when Amare gets back they will finish strong into the playoffs. We'll see.

Well...Phoenix is done. Not that they would have survived the Spurs anyway.
