View Full Version : REVIEW: Cold War

Cold War is a very unoriginal game about a freelance journalist (does anyone remember a title known as 'Beyond Good & Evil' from about 7 months ago?) in the Cold War era attempting to uncover a conspiracy in the U.S.S.R. (specifically Moscow). The game is a horrible attempt to imitate Splinter Cell's stealth mechanics. The environments and NPC's are extremely plain, the main character controls horribly. Knocking out guards is very sloppy and unconvincing. There was one point that I stood directly in front of a guard....brightly lit and he noticed nothing....I moved about a centimeter (almost literally) and he unloaded a clip on me. ******ed. The weapons are also sloppy and the all-important camera is awkward. Gamerankings.com has an average ranking of 56% from two publications. I believe this percentage is rather generous. I say thumbs down....4 out of 10.
