Baseball star Rafael Palmeiro will not be prosecuted on perjury charges after lawmakers said Thursday there isn't enough evidence to prove he lied when he told a congressional panel under oath that he had "never used steroids" - six weeks before failing a steroid test.

not indicting Palmeiro shows the whole thing was just so the politicians could flex their "muscle." not calling Bonds before the committee smelled funny then, when the only indictments handed down were involving BALCO and his ties to it.

couple this with the indictment and subsequent slap on the wrist pre trial plea bargains for Victor Conte and Barry Bonds supplier tell the real story: the powers that be in baseball know Bonds will break Aarron's record.

they want no cloud over that event. though to anyone with a memory, it will be tainted, just as McGwire and Sosa's chasing of Maris's record is now as well.
