I don't think so, he had 10 loses! Carpenter had 5.

Willis had a great year, Carpenters was better!

Starts giving up 0 ER: DTrain 10, Carp 7
Starts giving up 1 ER: DTrain 8, Carp 7
Starts giving up 2 ER: DTrain 6, Carp 5
Starts giving up 3 ER: DTrain 4, Carp 8
Starts giving up 4+ ER: DTrain 6, Carp 6

5 of DTrain's losses go like this:
5 IP, 1 ER
8 IP, 2 ER
6 IP, 3 ER
8 IP, 1 ER
6 IP, 2 ER

It's still 10 losses, and the Era's are almost the same. Big difference, I really don't have a problem with it.

Carpenter's team won their division and 100 games. Willis' didn't. That's why it was so one sided!

The difference here is that the Marlins were an infinitely better team when Willis pitched (and hit). He gave them a shot of energy that they didn't have for anyone else. However, part of the Marlins organization is probably happy because a Cy Young would have hiked D-Train's price up...sign him to a long-term deal and let the awards come!

And dob, you've really gotta calm down. Try not to be so antagonistic.

This was a no brainer decision. Carpenter was clearly a better pitcher. Had a better year. He went from June to September without a loss. The heart of the season when the games really matter. He had to win.

One important thing....

Willis is left handed...Carpenter is right handed.

It is harder for a Left Handed pitcher in the Bigs. he needs to be perfect on alot of pitches.

Right Handers can make more mistakes.

important thing?

that **** dont matter. its who has the better year.

you think if a pitcher was 4 foot 3 that he would win the cy young cause its harder for him to pitch in the big leagues?

Of course it matters.

It explains how his numbers are actually better.

Some on this thread were showing numbers as to why Carpenter deserved it.

I pointed out how it is harder to be a succesful left handed pitcher.

You just wanted to start crap didn't ya? You really didn't think your post through.....right?

That's ok.

Clemens got robbed, not Dontrelle.

Yea but he kinda got robbed by his own team. If they had scored some runs he would have won it. Would've scored some runs if they hadnt given him a zillion dollars to stay an extra year, they could have signed some bats.

Carpenter was clearly the best pitcher in the NL....The person who got Robbed was Clemens who couldn't get the run support all year long to win 20 games. Sad, but all in all a great year for the Rocket.

:sidelol:...I did'nt see the rule in the TOS about "objectiveness is not allowed".

You tell a guy to "get the hell out of here" because he is'nt a rampant homer?

Get a freaking grip.

Yes I am from forida, however Facts are Facts. D-Train was a good candinate for it, however he was not robbed. I know it hard not to see things without homer glasses im the same way with the fins, but I think the desicion was correct.

Those baseball writers robbed Dontrelle. Just because he had less wins, but if they checked the overall number d-train had a better season.

Dontrelle should have won. He had the better ERA, more wins (could have been even more if our bullpen wasn't complete trash), more shutouts, gave up less homeruns (yeah I know Pro player is a pitcher's park but he didn't always pitch there). Screw Carpenter. :D
