This is a really interesting list of greatest "indie" movies...

I don't agree with all of it, but it points out a lot of movies that I didn't even think of. Interesting to see where a lot of the big directors got their starts.

I'm sad I know you. I'm sadder still that the whole board has to read what you just posted.

Holy Grail wasn't an indie movie. The reason Life of Brian qualified was because no one wanted to release it. At least George Harrison so it for what it was.

In regards to Pulp fiction, they don't really do double director releases (at least not that I remember off the top of my head), so I think they were trying to say that Reservoir Dogs was a more important and bigger indie release, because it brought QT to the forefront.

My problems with the list are that some of the movies that I really think deserve more credit, are far towards the back of the list, such as Run Lola Run. Also, as enjoyable as it was, I don't think Sideways will be near the top 10 of that list in 10 years.

I will have a bigger post about this list once I come back... I love cinema, I study it as a job and a hobby...

But I would say that Amores Perros hardly qualifies as independent cinema, it was done and distributed by two of the biggest production companies in Mexico... Which I guess makes it independent in the USA but not really in Mexico (having said that, it is a damn good movie)
