If you like Folk/Indie Rock I would recommend picking up a copy of Sufjan Stevens' "Greetings from Michigan" or "Illinoise"

Michigan: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00009V7TZ/qid=1134918435/sr=8-2/ref=pd_bbs_2/103-3504975-0262221?v=glance&s=music&n=507846

Illinois: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0009R1T7M/qid=1134918435/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-3504975-0262221?v=glance&s=music&n=507846

Basically the premise is that he wants to write an album for every state. He uses events, people, landmarks of the state as a cruxt for his songwriting, but each song is much more. I doubt he will ever get around to every state, but I hope he continues to make more. Cool concept, excellent execution.

May not be for everyone, but if you like Folk/Indie sound, I would recommend you check him out.
