Well... As he does every Monday, The Mor decided to go and look up some good ol' news stories on Sunday's Dolphins game. So The Mor visited two large sports sites. He checked out ESPN (http://espn.com)and Sports Illustrated Online (http://si.com).

When The Mor visited these sites, he instantly clicked on the respectable NFL area of each site. It was kind of upsetting that on the front page of each sites NFL area there was no news on the Dolphins.

Granted we are out of the playoffs... But damn. Some teams in much worse shape got big news stories... Check out the screens from the two sites:

So, we've got ESPN's "Top Stories" area here... and there's no news on the Dolphins/Jets game. There's a goddamn story on Kurt freaking Warner and the Texans... But no fins. Moving on:

Again, no Phins. Bull. JAgs and 49ers? TEST YOUR SKILLS WITH PETER KING? Is this a sick joke put in place to piss The Mor off? If it is, ESPN and SI has done it. The Mor went and visited other big names like Sportsline.com (http://Sportsline.com.com) and had similar results.... It's a damn shame and the media should burn.

Ok, rant over. That's why The Mor hates the media.

Well, our win, as awesome as it was, wasn't a trouncing, and it meant - functionally - nothing. So.. awesome for us, maybe not for the national audidence. They have X amount of space and Y stories, and Y > X, hence, some get left out.

Yeah, Mor, although it was a big win for us in a big rivalry game, it means nothing in the grand scheme of the NFL. We still miss the playoffs and the Jets still suck. Oh well, we can enjoy it ourselves.

I personally could care less if nobody knows we are 7-7. I used to hate not being able to see highlights or hear people talk nice about our team. Now I just come to FinHeaven for highlights, commentary, everything... We know were we stand and when we reach the SuperBowl we can watch FinHeaven blow up with fake Dolphin fans. I like it the way it is, let other teams have all the crappy change their team every year fans..

I dont like when people complain about the media normally, but normally people complain after a win, but prior to losing a few games in a row, or us just being bad.

and i myself never care about the media, but it did bother me this week. When Tom Jackson talked about how good of a job Romeo Crennel is doing with the 5-9 browns, saying that they have 1 more win than all of last year already(with 2 games left) , but yet they didnt say much about us being 7-7 with 2 games left, have 3 more wins than last year already. they actually said more about the way the Jets team is playing hard under Herm Edwards, than about Saban. that super pissed me off.

There's gonna come a time when they can longer ignore us; and when that time comes...

Infidel Defilers. They shall all drown in lakes of blood. Now they will know why they are afraid of the dark. Now they learn why they fear the night.

Don't worry Mor, Ace hates the media with a burning passion. Just do what everybody does, email ESPN and tell them to shove their hate for us up their ***.

The Dolphins are the "Sacramento Kings" of the NFL...we put a pretty decent product on the field every year, have lots good fans, but get no love at all from the media. We need a big name player here....like Shaq with the Miami Heat....but not a T.O. or a Randy Moss.....who can we get here? Maybe we can hoodwink the Texans or 49ers and take Leinart. :)

Howard and our first pick for the #2? :sidelol:

come on, what did you expect them to put on the front page?

the colts are not undefeated, there were some major injuries, and the texans actually won. those are all big stories. the Fins beating the Jets is not that big a story.... just like the bills getting killed by the broncos is not that big a story.

they are showing the news that most people want to see.

Mor I agree, I sat through 90 freakin' minutes of Sportscenter last night to see the phins highlights... and nothing... they didn't even show them... they showed the same Colts losing footage about 500 times and not one phin highlight I was mega p'od... 90 minutes of my life wasted not to mention the constant repitition of ads you have to sit through what seems like every three seconds. I don't know why I keep expecting them to change ESPN sucks big time!!

a team that will not be in the playoffs, beating a team that will have a top 5 draft pick, is not a front page story.

well if it makes you guys feel any better i hate media and i think i know why they rag us. first , they are still mad because we fired wanny. second they are in serious need of being fired let me have a talk show and you guys will learn a very moral lesoon on why we need 3 te's 3 rbs and 4 wrs.

just for the recod mor , i think we do what anakin skywalker did in revenge of the sith and we should march on the espn temple and take a fire hose and flood the place and then they wouldnt be able to go on the air.

The Mor has started his own cult. :)

The Mor: "The Media is bad"
Sheep: "**** the media"
The Mor: "Espn is bad"
Sheep: "**** ESPN"

I agree Miami has been overlooked all season, We have won 4 in a row with a Rookie head coach and won 3 more than last season, you think we would get a blurb here and there.

Yeah I know.. I changed it.. when you sit next to a mod at work, you get that feedback more actively than passively. I couldn't even use the version that I wanted to.. Also, you're welcome for the seizures. I know they rock everyone's socks.

Wow. I had this whole awesome reply written up and then a co-worker sent me a link and it stole focus when I clicked it.. Blargh.

Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that ESPN is a bunch of punks. See, their problem is that they find a few media darlings and waste a whooole lot of time hyping them up. Honestly, I'm convinced that "Are you willing to fellate Peyton Manning" is on their job applications. They sorta do this thing where they talk about a couple "big stories" and let a lot of stuff fall through. Now, my thing is.. I understand that they're going to show the things that they think have the most appeal - they're there to make money, however, considering what the Fins have accomplished since the low water mark after Cleveland, it is rather dick that we get no love, even with the segue from Indy losing..
