View Full Version : Merry Christmas Havelock -- An Office Prank by MorWarp, Talos, and FinHeathen

It was another great Christmas for the Finheaven crew that work in the web hosting biz (The Mor, Mindwarp, Talos, and FinHeathen). Last week was a short one, and we did as little work as possible (unless of course you're the boss of one of the people listed... Then we worked our behinds off).

Good ol' Havelock decided to go on vacation leaving the rest of us here to actually earn our paycheck... The nerve. Anyway, we (by we I mean Talos) decided that the best way to get back at Havelock for using his hard earned vacation time is to giftwrap his desk... And we took pictures.

Merry Christmas Havelock!

EDIT -- I wanted to make it clear to everyone how dedicated we were to this cause. We spend about $35 on materials for wrapping (bows, paper and ribon) and about 40 or so man hours of wrapping time. Because this is going to be a hassle for ol' Havelock when he comes back to work on January 3rd, we got him a real gift. We got him an electronic Dart Board because he likes darts.

*** UPDATE *** To see the final outcome of the desk as of 1/4/06, click here: http://www.finheaven.com/boardvb2/showthread.php?goto=lastpost&t=115768

As you can see, we wrapped everything that we could possibly pick up and individually wrap.

Drawers? Towers? Chair? Check, check, and check.

Books, manuals, paper holders, and hats... We wrapped it all.

Coffee mugs and cups got wrapped too.

The Mor isn't sure if these pictures are actually doing the real thing justice.

Yes, we individually wrapped the phone, and the receiver.
http://www.finheaven.com/clear.gif

Monitors both were wrapped (Havelock has two at his desk) and the manuals are in the top right of this pic.

We added nifty little streamers to his fan (done by Larry -- Havelock should get it)

The big picture.

We wrapped his name tag, and his big decorative piece on the outside of the cube.

First, imagine the work involved getting the space full; then consider the work it'll be to then get all that crap out of there...plus the almost-certain loss of your employment...

Nah.

I had friend pull a prank on me so in retaliation I had another friend steal his car door key long enough to make me a copy. Unexpected, in the middle of the week(I lived in Brooksville, he in Stuart) I showed up at his work and filled his Velour interior Cutlass Supreme with packing foam with a little addition. I had collected an entire paper grocery bag full of sand spurs on the stalk and allowed them to dry so they were maximum sharp. i slapped these around and THEN put in the nuggets. I then left town and he did not make the positive ID on the culprit for several months when in a crowd at a party and drunk I couldn't STAND it anymore and fessed.

MOVE EVERY BUMP FOR GREAT JUSTICE!!

And here we see, the finale. The coup de grace before our good friend Havelock returns. This is what an extended holiday weekend does.

E: My apologies - there should be three images, but ImageShack is being flaky. Refresh til you see all three, or something.

Bump, update, photos??? Did he like his gift (actual one)?

The Mor was actually here when he came to work, and The Mor's camera phone was on and ready to film.

The reaction was filmed, but Mor's ghetto phone will not let you export a video if you record too much. The Mor got carried away and made a minute and a half video, and Mor's phone said "F YOU".

Havelock was really cool about it. We all helped him get his desk unwrapped little by little.

He really liked the dart board we bought him. He hung it up next to his cubicle so he can play during the day. We also chipped in to get him a gift certificate at Borders (which he also liked very much).

In the end, he was a very good sport about it, and nobody got fired. He laughed a lot and we played a lot of darts today. I'll try and post a pic of his pimp-dart setup at his desk.

Thanks for the bump. :D
