I wouldn't want anyone else from that draft. I just wanted to make that clear right off the bat.

That said, I would like to see a leaner Ronnie Brown next year.

I don't care if his weight goes up or down, I just want him to be a more efficient machine.

He's definitely got around 15 pounds of excess body fat.

Being as productive as he was, with a 4.5 rookie ypc average, he should really be looking to maximize his qualities.

He's a big man with or without that excess padding. His speed, with that size, is one thing that puts him ahead of the other big or fast backs.

Heavier or lighter, with a body fat percentage around 8 or 6, he'll get that much quicker.

Regardless, I'll be happy if he does nothing differently next year (while getting more carries of course), but it would be an added benefit for him to streamline his vehicle.

is all I'm saying.

Do you know what his body fat is now? Just wondering what you base this on.

He was at 6% for the combine, which is on the brittle side for a runner of his style. He has remarkable speed, balance and flexibility for a guy his size and that's his game. Low BF is great for posing, but not much else.

I dont know what Ronnie's body fat is, but I dont see the problem with it as it is. It's extra padding. He doesnt have speed or agility problems.

LOL, Brown's Body Fat can't be higher than 7% the guy is a genetic freak and don't let his "bulky-ness" fool you.

Have you ever seen Ronnie with his shirt off?

The guy is ALREADY at under 8% body fat, maybe 6 or 7%. He's absolutely ripped.

Where have you seen this extra 15 lbs. of body fat?

He's sponsored by EAS, the bodybuilding supplement company.

He's in excellent shape. What you're saying is just flat false. I would bet his bodyfat is within 2% of Chris Chambers.

How long do you think it will take for you to get down to 50%?

This is all funny to me. Being that I have worked out all my life, taken many supplements, and am very active, and am around 7% myself. Ronnie is fine where he is at. He can work on getting faster yes, but if you all do the math then you would fine this out. First if he is 6 - 8% he only has around 20lbs of fat on his entire body. If he lost 15lbs...well then he would be on his way to the grave. It would put him around 2.5% bfp. Lower than 5% as athlectic as he is is very dangerous. Body builders during shows can only maintain 4-5 before their body starts rejecting. Having said all that, he might loose weight, or hit real hard on speed doing wind sprints or the like. However he doesnt need to loose any fat.

How do you test for that?

I'm 6-7% and I'd be ridiculously skinny if I didn't have the muscle I do (and I'm only 175 at 6'4")

I don't care if his bodyfat is 30%, if he performs, I am happy. Didn't hear anyone nagging on Bettis when he was crushing defenders.

How do you test for that?

The most common way is calipers.
