Depends. If the NBA allstar team had a season to play together maybe but I do think a great team will beat a bunch of great players thrown together with no real concept of team play.

Well considering NBA All-star squads rarely play defense and love to show boat I think Detroit could beat them. Nobody plays defense on all star squads and this is why we always get beat at the Olympics.

Basketball is a game of individuals working as a team....but great individual play can dominate....

If you give the NBA All-Stars one month straight of 5 hour practices....they beat the Pistons or ANY NBA team by 20 points.

NBA All Star vs Pistons...would be a massacre in favor of the All-Stars (as long as they had practice time)

With Nash at PG, Kobe at 2G, LeBron at SF, Duncan at PF, & Shaq at C, I don't see anyway that the Pistons could defend that. Tayshaun is their best defender & he can't cover the entire backcourt.

This thread is just Pistons fans talking reckless. Detroit's a great team, don't get it twisted, but they wouldn't hang with a team of the best the NBA has to offer!

With the way the all-star format is right now, I think the Pistons would win, since most all-star games are played like the five guys on the court are meeting each other for the first time. The Pistons play together enough that their combined abilities would overcome the talent of the all-stars.

However, if the all-stars had enough time to practice together (a few weeks would probably do it), they'd win big.

Hey the Pistons are the best team in the NBA. They can actually pass. The allstars wont pass. And hey Duke fan, I have 4 words for you about the Pistons D BEST IN THE LEAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not only beat them...but some of the bandwagonners expect them to win by double digits and hold the stars to under 70 points....

I guess Detroit does have a serious crack problem.

Ok i'll be generous and answer every question for you :D

Best Record - Detroit Pistons 39-7 [Spurs and Mavericks right behind them though]
Beat Spurs on Christmas Day - 1999 Lakers team beat them 99-93
Well you actually 10 teams have beaten the mavs

Utah, Philly, Memphis, Milwaukee, San Antonio, LA Lakers, Golden State, Minnesota, New York...I dont see detroit anywhere on that list

If the heat can lose to the heat...then i must be high or something

Also the final score of the Detroit-Mavericks game was 82-119 in favor of the mavericks

Come on you guys know the Pistons are going to win the nba just like 2004. This team always turns it up in the playoffs. The pistons have the best starting five in the league. Billups is scoring and setting up his teamates( I know most nba players don't even know what that means). Hamilton will not miss from mid-range. Prince and Ben will always play great defense. If Sheed gets hot NOBODY in the nba can stop him. You may stop a few of our players but not all of them. Man the pistons are underrated. What's up Matt?

Dude...you still haven't figured out that the game is on Sunday?

It's been two days and two threads already...

The Pistons were life and Death to beat the Heat in Detroit this last time...and the Pistons hit like 87 Three's.....and you really think they will kill us at home?

Pistons are a "good" basketball team, but the way the media has them in the finals at midseason is ridiculous.Still alot of ball to be played.Theyre bench isnt so great either and winning 72 is about impossible for them now.Spurs and Mavs just 2 games behind them, youd think they were 15 games better than anyone else that was close. The Pistons are more overrated than they are underrated lol.No players starting in all-star game.Hmmm tells me these are all "system" players.

Hey Tyler. Your right these Heat fans think there all that and a bag of chips. Sorry, about the Heat beating the Heat thing I was tired and you guys can razz me all you want but face it, come playoff time the Pistons are unstopable. The Heat will not beat the Pistons in a 7 game series in the playoffs if they happen to play. Man Heat fans are annoying.

I am not a band wagon hopper either. The Pistons are all of Michigans team Yeah. I wonder how many NBA championships the heat have? If I'm not mistaken they have ZERO. The games the pistons lose as of right now will not matter in the playoffs. Even if the pistons don't get home court advantage it won't matter since they have the best road record. We still have the best record in the nba and a pretty big lead over the eastern conference. Right now the pistons are the best team in the nba, like it or not. It looks like most people think the pistons will choke just like the last two years. The pistons are the best team at at adjusting to teams they play which makes them so tough in a seven game series.

They had there whole starting lineup except Brevin Knight and Primoz Brezic was depleted

Thats Emeka Okafor, Gerald Wallace, and Sean May 3 guys that could of helped us win many games. To me this teams a solid SG away from actually competing in this league...That could be had this year in the draft with Adam Morrison, JJ Reddick, and Rudy Gay all being there.

Sorry for what man 3 in a row now and felton keeps playing good at the sg position when hes clearly a point
