View Full Version : Lakers' Jackson implies refs influenced by Cuban

Lakers coach Phil Jackson was in a foul mood after his team was called for four technical fouls and two flagrant fouls in a 102-87 loss at Dallas on Tuesday night.
And he implied that the referees' whistles might have been indirectly influenced by Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.
"It was a poorly refereed game," Jackson said.
"I know there's a lot of pressure on the refs when they come here because Mark [Cuban] has them review the tapes and send them into the league. These guys are nervous Nellies when they come in to referee in this building. But they have to do a better job than they're doing. That's not acceptable."

Maybe Jackson should concentrate on actually coaching his team to play the game with a plan instead of just planning to watch Kobe shoot 45 times a night and hope he wins the game. Jackson has done a terrible job with this team. They dont play team ball and have no shot at beating teams like Dallas consistantly. He has a marginal .500 team that deserves no respect from the refs.

I am a Laker fan, but even I am getting somewhat tired of Phil's rhetoric. He did get a response from Cuban though, which shows, some folks are rich, and still not that bright (which is better than us stupid poor folks...).

the Refs favor Cuban.........the same Cuban who in one season got half a mil worth of fines Cuban??.........methinks Philly needs to actually coach now that he can't lean on a Shaq or Jordan

Kobe has no supporting cast besides Odom...not much he can do besides score. Give him a couple more decent players, and they would be good.

James Brown does a piece on White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen where he says...."F' Phil Jackson"
It might be the greatest interview ever. Why was he saying F' Phil Jackson...tune in and watch the interview. TRUST ME YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

Phil Jackson has been doing that forever. Don't forget the old Bulls vs Knicks years. The Bulls were a high flying team with MJ, and the Knicks were in there thug days. And Jackson use to always say before the series that fans wanted to see MJ soar, and not a wrestling match and a few other things. Ref's hear this.
