Today's game was a huge dissapointment to me (I am a Real Madrid fan). We had problems with their counter attacks, we couldn't take a shot worth a damn. Iker Casillas played amazingly. Ronaldo was a no show today. We lost 1-0 :nono:

They need to. I am a big Madrid fan, and I have a question for other Soccer Fans. Why did they get rid of Walter Samuel? He is a Top 5-10 Defender in the World. That is their weakest position, and they get rid of him...:nono:

Also...they need to score. Beckham, Ronaldo, Raul, Robinhon, Zidane and Guti need to step up big time when they play at Highbury.

Why? because Florentino Perez is an idiot that is more worried with selling tickets than with winning games... I just checked out their rosters for their last four championships in la liga... And the one thing all those teams have in common is that although they did not have as big of a international star team with them... they had defenders (Hierro and Campo in the middle with Salgado and Roberto Carlos in their prime) and a defensive midfielder who actually could play (MAkelele, and Clarence seedorf before that)

I mean when you have the team that they have who is going to recover a ball??? Roberto Carlos is an attacking defender, as is Cicinho, Woodgate is overrated, you go forward, and all you have are people who are darn good offensive players, but not very good defenders...

Meanwhile Valencia is showing everyone just how to play if you wanna catch up with Barcelona (Go Valencia!!!)

Now on the other hand you look at Barcelona, and that is a whole different story, while they still have a really good attack, they have as solid a back field as you can find....

Two own goals...Barcelona didn't outclass them until it was 1-0 Chelsea. Then Barcelona started attacking and play the Football they are known for. Too bad for John Terry..although he had a good game, his own goal was THE turning point in the game. 2-1 Aggregate

Really?

I only saw a distant replay....I did see Ronaldinho dominate 2/3 of the pitch.

Ronaldinho was pretty quiet for his standards, until the last 20 minutes..and yeah they tied with an own goal. Ronaldinho took a free kick, and it hit John Terry in the head and floated over Victor Valdes.

As far as I am hearing, yes. I posted a thread on that very topic not too long ago. Unfortunately, very little responses. I'll see If I can find the link.

No. I'm very sure that the Bird Flu wouldn't cancel our World Cup. Actually the news talk a lot about the Bird Flu but i'm sure in two months nobody cares and nobody talks about it

He did in the beginning, but he was starting to come along towards the end. He is a Top 5 Defender in the World, Real made a huge mistake.

Samuel is a top 5 defender on an italian team, but when he's the only defensive minded defender on Real Madrid (lol), he was set up to fail.

Real Madrid is my favorite team, but I'm not neive. This team will once again not win a single trophy this year and unless they get increadibly lucky, they won't win one again until Florentino is gone.

If they are bad now, what about when Zidane retires, and Ronaldo possibly leaves? Until someone takes over that knows how to build a soccer team, we won't win anything.

Look at Barca, they are building a great team, hell imagine if they get Henry, lmao.

But as someone mentioned before, I think the best team right now is Juventus. Anyone can win the champions, but they have the best shot.

Barca > Juve. And that was before I saw Barca clean up Chelsea in London. Imagine the outcome at Nou Camp. Barca's offensive prowess is astounding... They come at you in waves with so much pace and youthful exuberance, it's beautiful to see.

If Barça's defense plays decently with Ronnie Messi Etoo Larsson etcup front we should beat Juve if we faced them.

Agreed, Barca's perceived weakness is on the defensive flanks with Oleguer and Belletti. Fortunately, they've got 2 world class players in Puyol and Marquez in the middle. Just a nice blend of players all around.

In a dumb little snippet, I am from the same small town as Rafa Marquez... It's called zamora Michoacan and it is a butt ugly place... (No I never met him, but a friend of mine was in the same class as him in Middle school)
