Dukie Vitale of ESPN is crying his eyes out as his Blue Devils got beat down by Florida State....haa haaaaa haaaa.

If the officials wouldn't have cheated in the first game they would have been swept by FSU. It's too bad that the dookies are going to lose two straight.

Duke needs to address the week backcourt defense. Dickie V. did a nice job a constantly screaming about getting the ball inside but FSU did the right thing by using its faster guards against Paulus and Reddick to get to the basket and get all the big men in foul trouble. This win should get FSU into the NCAA tourney.

:shakeno:

If you were so confident in your Tar Holes beating Duke, why DIDN'T you accept my bet the first time around when they played at the Dean Dome? :cooldude:

And, if you think they are "going to lose two straight," which means UNC will beat them AT Cameron on SENIOR NIGHT, then by all means, let's bet again!

We haven't lost a game since that loss against dook. Right now we're slaughtering Virginia 99-50. UNC will be prepared for Saturday night. You were the one that was confident that it was going to be a 20+ point win for dook.

Not VIRGINIA!!!!

I'm not saying UNC won't be ready for Saturday. It'll probably be a good game.
But once again, if you are so confident that Duke will lose two straight, why won't you take the bet???

Because we have a team full of freshman and dook is the more experienced team.

BTW, I'm moving closer to Greensboro. I hope to get tickets for the ACC tourney.

So you are admitting that Duke is better? I thought they were going to lose 2 straight?
(I'm just giving you a hard time.)

BTW, that'll be great if you could go for the ACC tourney. Have fun and make sure to wear your Duke stuff.

With Uconn's beat-down of South Florida we should be #1 again.. I will bet any Dukie or Carolina fan if they play Uconn during the tourney.. Hopefully in the Final 4.. Uconn vs Duke in Finals or Final 4's have been great games..

Yes they have been and I'm really hoping for a Duke and UConn National Championship.

The two best teams.

BTW, wasn't that UConn and So Fla game really close up until the end? Was UConn bored?

Uconn isn't as dominant as I thought they were, but they're still a very good team. Anderson is an awesome 3-pt shooter.

crap i was out having a nice evening with my gf when this occured....God how i hate duke and jj redick

Forgot to mention I was at the temple game last saturday and I wasnt impressed with jj redick shooting the ball like 15 times and making only 4 shots all night.

I did however come away seriously impressed with Mardy Collins from Temple

Same here. He played great. You could tell he really wanted to win. It's too bad the rest of the team didn't have the same firepower he did.

Rudy Gay is the most athletic player in the country right now bro...Marcus Williams is argueably the top pg in the country as well with the exception of maybe Dee Brown. Denham Brown is the best 6th man in the country averaging nearly 12 points coming off the bench. Josh Boone when playing his game can be an all american type player, and Hilton Armstrong has been an animal all year long blocking shots like crazy. Honestly if he had 20-30 pounds more muscle he'd be recieving comparisons to emeka okafor. Only thing i see stopping uconn in the march madness is a guy named Adam Morrison...hopefully it doesnt happen

Not to mention I also met greg paulus too...he ripped up not sure how many points he had but I did see him hit like 3 3 pointers right in temples face. I do hate duke but you gotta love watching greg paulus get it done on the court as a freshmen. Thats the player i most compare my game too...a pure pg who can shoot when needed to

They still aren't an unbeatable team like it seemed a few weeks ago. They've had some problems recently putting away teams(Notre Dame in particular). They'll have to play better than that in the NCAA tourney if they expect to win it all.

Paulus isn't a very good PG. He's a turnover machine. He's got 10 turnovers in the past two games.

He's only a freshman. He leads the ACC in assists.

You'd be saying otherwise if he played for carolina.

When we play at our best we are totally dominant.. The problem is we only play like that for parts of halves and we always, repeat always allow teams back in games which scares me.. Take tonight, we come out and start well and build and 18-0 lead.. Well you would think game over right no.. They play crappy till the end of the half and start off the 2nd half well then crap.. South Florida shoots its way back in Nova' style and suddenly its 45-42 Uconn.. pissed we show our dominance and play pretty good the rest of the way to walk away with a win on the road..

No, actually I wouldn't. Bobby Frasor is only a freshman and is second in the ACC in assists. He doesn't have the 90+ turnovers that Paulus has. I'll take the 0.6 assist difference.

When Duke plays their absolute best they are dominant also.

It just so happens that every team they play, night in and night out, brings their A+++++ game against them.

It finally cought up tonight against FSU.

Duke's style of play contributes to that. UNC is more of a half-court offense.

You don't think Paulus is going to improve his assist/turnover ratio as he gets older?

He isn't Raymond Felton good, but will be a decent player in a year or 2.. He is just a freshman leading a very good team pretty well. Needs to work on his assist to TO ratio, 1.6 isn't very good even for a frosh..

Paulus is not the best freshman PG. He's a turnover machine. A PG should not turn the ball over that much no matter what grade level he's in.

It doesn't matter. Tyler Hansbrough is the best freshman period.

This was a huge win for FSU, not with it just beating Duke. We needed this win to help us get to the tournament. That's 18 wins now with a guaranteed .500 record in ACC play and the possible #4 seed in the conference tournament. PLEASE, let us get into the field of 64, we haven't been there since 1998.

Man, Bob Sura, those were the Glory Days of FSU basketball if you can call them that. But actually Sura played from 91-94. We had somewhat of a NBA roster when we made the tournament those few years in a row. Sam Cassell, Bob Sura and Charlie Ward, we just have never had a dominating Big-Man to control the paint. Alexander Johnson is finally coming into his own this year. If him and Al Thornton will both come back next year for their Senior seasons, we should be a force to reckon with.

your biased as can be bro...your forgetting about Tyrus Thomas from LSU a player i feel is much more suprerior to hansborough

Tyrus Thomas

12.7 ppg 9.3 rpg 1.4 apg Guys been an absolute freak, and hes this years Marvin Williams

Tyler Hansbrough

18.9 ppg 7.5 rpg 1.2 apg Guys also been very very good, but from a standpoint of what im looking at. His stats are only higher scoring cause he averages like 8-10 more shots per night.

Greg Paulus

6.4 ppg 2.7 rpg 5.3 apg From a pg perspective on a team in which he doesnt take many shots...paulus is doing a hell of a job as a freshmen to run the floor for this team, but byroan is right 92 turnovers is killer

Josh McRoberts

8.4 ppg 4.8 rpg 1.4 apg Stats can be decieving...hes been one of the most dominant rookies this whole season, and im hearing his draft stock is higher then both hansbrough and thomas's right now.

Oh really? I guess your season started in January? McRoberts didnt do anything for the first couple months of the season, then fell asleep again for the first half of the ACC schedule. His draft stock has nothing to do with how hes playing, its solely based on the almighty potential. The guy can handle, has a game facing the basket, and can shoot. All that in a 6-10 body and you are a lottery pick.

Hansbrough is the ROTY and a first team all ACC player.....the best post player I've seen in a long time. Once he learns howto shoot and pass....watch out. He still gets half his points off of putbacks and finishing on the fast break. Tyler matched up one on one against the best post player in the country and outplayed him...not much more to say.
