There's no such thing as the #1 movie of all time. Too many good ones to choose from. Lists like this are ridiculous.

Where have you been the last 19 years Rocky.. All those are classics.. I mean Star Wars is the greatest movie of all-time because no movie will ever blow me away like that, because I was young...

I agree, this was obviously a list voted on by 20 somethings. I am not knocking them (I would be knocking myself), but most haven't ever seen older movies like Casablanca. There are also a lot of foreign films missing (e.g. City of God).

I also agree with Pagan. Lists suck. I thing the Library of Congress has a good system for recognizing classics that resembles the Hall of Fame with a limited number of inductees per year.

Pretty cool site overall.

A couple of months ago I saw one of the guys after years and years. As a joke he had rerecorded it using his fancy computer, man it is hands down the most disturbing song ever and a testament to the words " Crucify him on the tree of woe".

That's my favorite list of all time^ It's James Berardinalli's, and his picks are a little more abstract in some areas. His picks are very very good though, and he justifies everyone. I would recommend that list if you're looking for a film to rent.

I actually agree with that, while shawshank was a good movie, it is by no means the best movie ever, and I can probably come up wioth more than 100 that are better than it...

And the original list that spawned this thread is a an awfull list... but then again opinions are like.. you know that...

I think a lot of people look at film in a very different, abstract way to others. I look at the craft, the poetry and symmetry of the story and the visual beauty, whereas some people just want to see a kick-*** laughfest, which is totally cool. But that's what makes it so hard to pick a top-100 that is justified beyond belief.
