I'd say those are all the odds on favourites and I wouldn't be surprised if you won out.

I hate the modern-day oscars. Play a homosexual, lesbian, prostitute or transgender and you're a lock.

See: Halle Berry in Monsters Ball
Charlize Theron in Monster
Huffman and Capote tonight
Brokeback Mountain tonight
pretty much every film over the past 5 years with some type of homosexual or cher in it

Argh!!

I haven't seen Capote, but I'll be surprised if Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon do not win. Other than those two, I have no idea who is going to win what. I have a feeling that Brokeback Mountain is not going to win Best Picture like everybody is expecting, though...

I'd hope he wrote the jokes. I just don't think his brand of comedy is suited for this audience and this situation.

The Bjork/Cheney joke was hysterical, as was the westerns reel. Kudos to them for realizing the elephant was in the room and deciding to talk about it.

And how about the 36 Mafia performing a song about pimping for a bunch of white people. And winning an Oscar for it!!

I love it when stuffy award shows have "precidents" set like this. There goes the neighborhood!!

It was great seeing them so excited after they won. Dropped an F-bomb in the acceptance speech for good measure. :rofl3:

It's not Stewart's fault, but this year's version of the show totally blows. If they have another montage, I'll puke.

How did Pryor not get more applause from the crowd, btw?

now that was something i was wondering about - he would have gotten a standing o from me...

Richard Pryor (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001640/): I like makin' love myself, and I can make love for about three minutes. I do about three minutes of serious ****in', then I need eight hours sleep! And a bowl of Wheaties!

Richard Pryor (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001640/): There are two billion chinese people livin' in China. That's how you know someone's doing some serious ****ing...

Why else do you think she played a guy? That horse in the few posts above, has male genitalia. Not female genitalia.

I liked Crash, just didn't think it was amazingly great (it was about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face, which made it seem a bit pretentious and preachy to me)

I usually try to see all the nominees for best pic, but i just couldn't do it this year. I only saw Crash and Brokeback.

I liked it as well. Beautifully shot (Ang Lee deserved the award) and acted...just drags on and on after awhile though. OH and the old age make up was pretty shoddy at times (I swear they just dyed a few hairs grey and slapped on a fake moustache on Jake G. and called it a day  )

I got about half my picks right...glad that Crash won it....the movie really gets you to think about racism and other things.
