As Fin Fan in Cali requested I'm goona show you an easy way to create a poll.
First thing you need to do is create a New Thread

on the bottom of that thread go to the bottom where it says Additional Options.

On the bottom of it their is a Post a Poll option, click Yes, post a Poll with this thread

their is an option where you can select the number of options you want for that poll. You can make anywhere from 2 to 15 options.

Then in Poll Question type the question you want to ask. Then type in the choices you want to offer

Next you can control how many days you want the poll to stay open. To do this go to the Poll Timeout option. To have the poll never end don't type any number in their. If you type 1 in the box then the poll will end exactly 24hours after you posted it.

Next you got the option to allow multiple choice: Give users the ability to select more than one answer and Make votes public. To do this click the check box under the option. To preview your poll before you post it click Preview Poll

Then when your finish click Submit New Poll.

Then you can view your poll.

Now lets say you created a thread already and you want to add a poll to it, you can. And you do not need to create a new thread. All you need to do is click "Thread Tools" and then click Add a Poll to this Thread.
Note: You can only do this 5 minutes after you create a thread
