Broncos | Team acquires No. 15 overall pick in Abraham trade
Tue, 21 Mar 2006 15:58:39 -0800

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the New York Jets have traded DE John Abraham to the Atlanta Falcons as part of a three-way trade between the Jets, Falcons and the Denver Broncos. If the trade is approved, then the Falcons will have traded their first-round pick, No. 15 overall, to Denver, who in turn will trade their first-round pick, No. 29 overall, and two additional picks to Atlanta. Atlanta then sends the 29th pick to the Jets for Abraham. The Jets would receive a draft pick two slots higher in the first round than the Seattle Seahawks were able to offer.

So atlanta will end up getting Abraham and two denver draft picks.

Denver gets Atlantas first round pick #15

Jets get Denvers first round round pick #29

If i'm reading that correct i think the jets are getting the raw end of that deal.

the Falcons traded there 15th pick to the broncos for the broncos 29th pick and 2 middleround picks in 2006 and 2007 and then the falcons sent the 29th pick to the jets for abraham

i believe that's why they got peterson; they fell out of the race for abraham.

Wow the Broncos must have their eye on someone special in the draft. May'be Lendell White? If they do go for him then they wont be trading for Ricky......

Well I did not see that deal coming. At least not a three team deal anyway

Nick13

could be good news for us, if the Jets are looking at a replacement for Curtis Martin in years to come, that RB from Memphis DeAngelo Williams would be there at 16, perhaps we could swing a deal and move down to 29th, pick Jean-Gilles or Mangold or even Cromartie or Hill and pick up a second round pick in the process.

i know it is around but here is what the trade consist of
According to FOX, DE John Abraham has been traded to the Atlanta Falcons for #29 overall selection in the upcoming NFL Draft.
If the trade is approved, then the Falcons have traded their first-round pick (#15 overall) to the Denver Broncos, which traded their 1st round pick (#29) and two additional picks to Atlanta. The Falcons then send the 29th pick of the draft to the Jets for Abraham. The Jets thus receive a draft pick two slots higher in the first round than the Seahawks were able to offer.

Denver might go for Chad Jackson.

Why didn't Miami trade down with Denver??

I love like what the Falcons did.........instead of just sending their pick to the Jets for Abraham, they first trade down, meaning even though they essentially gave up their 1st round pick for JA, the Jets only get the 29th pick, not the 15th.

i would have been pretty pissed at the Falcons if they had sent the Jets #15.

Let Denver take Chad Jackson the Gator WR bust.

This is great news in my book, particularly if you guys are right and they will go after that guy. That's one more decent guy like a Justice on the board for Saban to choose from when Miami's pick comes up.

Falcons | Contract update: J. Abraham
Tue, 21 Mar 2006 17:23:18 -0800
Andrea Adelson, of the Associated Press, reports the contract agreed to with the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/7/nfl">Atlanta Falcons by DE John Abraham (http://www.kffl.com/player/1322/nfl) is a six-year, $45 million deal, with about $18 million guaranteed. He will get $15.5 million in reporting and signing bonuses this year. "He's elated," said Abraham's agent, Rich Rosa. "He's very happy; he's got the long-term deal he's always wanted."

Interesting. I will have to e-mail the Colorado Springs Gazette writer who covers the Donkeys to see what Denver is up to and who they might pick....they still have Rod Smith, and Ashley Lelie....not sure a receiver is
their biggest need...I think they are going to go after a RB....Lendale White
perhaps???
