1. Krusty the Clown, "The Simpsons": He's one of the most popular "Simpsons" characters and Springfield's No. 1 TV personality, but deep down, under the white face, red nose and green hair ... hey, wait a minute, that ain't make-up! Krusty’s a man of many addictions: alcohol, cigarettes, gambling, prescription medications and Pepto-Bismol. His main source of income is from slapping his name on every product imaginable -- and some that aren't: pregnancy tests (“Warning: May cause birth defects”), crowd-control banners ("Krusty Sez: Get Back!") and of course the Krusty Burger.

2. Pennywise, "Stephen King's It": Before discovering cell phones, Stephen King had to create other sources of mayhem, in this case a demon who came to life every 27 years to curse a small town in Maine and terrorize its children. Its physical manifestation was Pennywise, an unjolly jester who spouted bad jokes ("Do you have Prince Albert in a can?") between horrific declarations ("I am the eater of worlds, and of children"). In the 1990 TV version, this bad clown was played by Tim Curry, midway between his performances as "Rocky Horror’s" Dr. Frank-N-Furter and "Family Affair’s" Mr. French. His would-be victims included John Ritter and a very young Seth Green.

3. Homey D. Clown, "In Living Color": In all fairness, Damon Wayans’ character (real name: Herman Simpson, no relation to Homer, O.J. or Ashlee) didn't want to be a clown. It was forced upon him as part of a prison work-release program. (What could possibly go wrong?) Best known for his catchphrase, "Homey don't play that," he blamed everything wrong with his life on The Man and frequently resorted to low-level violence with his trusty stuffed sock. He has since been the star of a video game, though a Homey movie has been stuck in development since 2003 ... probably the fault of The Man.

It was originally a miniseries. Same with The Stand. Whatever happened to Stephen King doing miniseries?

He did one a couple of years ago called Rose Red. The one you are talking about was Kingdom Hospital, but that was his attempt at an actual tv series. King's stuff is best translated to the screen when he has no control over it (e.g. The Shining) or just okays it and stays out of the process (e.g. The Stand). I love his books, but the man cannot make movies or tv shows. Kingdom Hospital and his version of The Shining are two examples.

However, it looks like he will be staying out of the process of making The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, which will be an awesome movie IMO.

Also, I looked it up and there is another miniseries being made. Desperation will air in May.

Shawn Crahan the percussionist from Slipknot? That would be a good choice in my opinion as well.
