If post whoring was a sport, you'd have a 22 million dollar mega-endorsement with Coca-Cola now, Big A.

:chuckle: Just kidding...you've slowed down now

But in all seriousness, you should try to limit coke. Caffeine is bad and after time you will get headaches and stuff from drinking too much coke sporadically. Try drinking gatorade or powerade or just plain water.

Opiates are derivatives from the Poppy plant... Heroin, Opium, Morphine, Codeine and most narcotic pain relievers...

In all seriousness I used to drink more than 2 litres a day of pepsi. I'm trying to get back in shape so I cut down to 1 can a day and I have dropped over 7 kilos (about 17 pounds). I do drink about 3-4 litres of water a day though. You will go through withdrawal but after a month they should be gone

Get yourself a big glass...fill it with cold water and ice cubes and a slice or two of lemons.....drink like 4-8 of these a day.....after a while the desire for Coke should go down. It's hard ,,,I still love my Cokes, but not every day.

It might help you stop if you write up a chart that slowly decreases the amount per day that you drink over a period of days or weeks. You might want to talk to your family about this too if it is really serious. Its always good to have some real life emotional support.

I used to be a major Coke fiend.

I replaced it with Iced Tea, water and apple juice.

I drink a TON of coffee but I used to drink a ton of coffee and a ton of Coke....and I wondered why I could never sleep at night.

Trying to get off Coke? Replace it with water or juice. If you need the pick me up that Coke offers have a Mountain Dew instead...LOL.

I did the same thing. I still drink an occasional diet pepsi or diet dp though. The funny thing is that after I stopped drinking regular coke and pepsi for a while, I can't drink it anymore. It's way too sweet now.

Same here.
Originally, when you switch you can't stand the taste of Diet cola. Then after a while when you try and give yourself a treat and drink a reg. cola it's a total shock.

It's like drinking a cup of half water and half sugar......
wait, that's exactly what a regular cola is.....

I'm like a soda binge drinker I'll go a week and drink moderatley, like maybe one can a day. Then I start smoking weed and the next thing I know I've gone through 5 24packs in one month.

I'd say I average 4 24 packs a month, this month i'm trying to cut it down to 3 24's. baby steps, man.

When you go without coke, you will experience withdrawals that will lead to headaches and nausiea(sp). You need to clean your body out. Try some veggie juices for a week...one or two a day...it'll clean out your system and you'll feel a new man.....

when I quit drinking alcohol, I found myself with a Pepsi can in my hand way too much. I was drinking 12-16 a day. Realizing that a couple of thousand calories a day from corn syrup...there is no sugar in coke and Pepsi, was a bad thing, I weaned myself to diet. It took about six months but it eventually worked. Now I am in the same boat as you guys, I simply cannot enjoy a regular soft drink anymore. It sits like a brick in my gut. To finish the story, I got terrible headaches from the NutraSweet, and weaned myself from that too. Now, I drink plain seltzer water, an acquired taste, but it sure is better for me.

Cola drinks have 3 ingredients that possibly be harmful to health:

1. Sweeteners. Sugar in soft drinks (including non-cola drinks) increases
the possibility of dental caries ("cavities"). Non-nutritive sweeteners
such as saccharin and aspartame also have undesirable side-effects in
specific population segments. Nutritive sweeteners are a significant
source of calories in the diet (about 250 per serving of a soft drink).

2. Caffein. This "upper" is added specifically to cola drinks as a class.
It is a diuretic and can elevate blood pressure. It has been suggested as
connected to development of rheumatoid arthritis.

3. Phosphoric acid. This acid is typically only used in cola drinks, which
are very acidic (low pH) compared to other soft drinks. This can increase
the rate of enamel loss from teeth. Phosphates in general are a
nutritional problem when ingested in volume without corresponding calcium.
This results in decalcification of bone tissue, accelerating osteoporosis
in the aged.

The example of Coke removing tarnish from a penny is irrelevant to health
issues. Water and salt will cause iron to rust away, but they're both
essential to life. Your stomach acid is much stronger than that in Coke.
By the way, I've heard a microbiologist say he used to drink a Coke
quickly after accidentally sucking up diluent through a pipet. He claimed
the Coke was protective against the bacteria. I don't think I accept this
argument, but it shows the "flip-side" of the penny example.

Here are my recommendations based on a rational assessment of the above:

1. Soft drinks and coffee should be ingested in moderation. Avoid more
than 4 servings a day.

2. If you are at risk for osteoporosis, avoid soft drinks with phosphoric
acid (e.g., colas).

3. Drinking the diet form of soft drinks can eliminate 1000 calories or
more per day from the diet and will reduce the incidence of sugar-related
dental caries.

btw, there is no sugar in soda in America...it is high fructose corn syrup because sugar, with it's artificially propped up prices, is twice as expensive here than any where in the world.

But this is funny as well.

The Jets are in full rebuilding mode and have huge question marks up and down the coaching staff and roster. With a first-time head coach and coordinators and several first-year coaches, added together with a number of young players in a new scheme, the Jets appear to be no threat for at least the next couple of seasons.
