Are you all blind? That's the fakest looking thing I've ever seen. The Topher clips were taken from "In Good Company". The sand comming through the keyhole was from the Mummy. The Venom shots were taken from Alien. Come on, you're all better than that.

Budd, do you even READ Spiderman?

Venom got his inhuman strength because Eddie Brock was a weightlifting steroid freak.

I'm sorry bro, but when you're bringing to life characters that people have known for YEARS, at least get in the freaking ballpark. Eddie Brock - according to Marvel Universe - is 6'3" and 260 pounds.

It's not my opinion, it's the way the character was created.

A good fart could knock Topher Grace over.

Wait!!! I know!!!! I'm going to make a new movie of "Shaft" starring Jerry Seinfeld!

Yes man I do read spiderman and I've watched every cartoon aired on tv...

the inhuman strength was not caused by eddie brock it was caused by the symbiot bro...how do you think carnage was so strong...cassius wasnt a weight lifting freak

The symbiote enhanced his strength Budd. Like it inhanced the strength of Cassidy. Cassidy had that "insane person's strength".

Irregardless, Brock was 6'3" and 260. How on earth do you justify Topher Grace?

At least in The Punisher they got the right person to play him. How would you feel if they got Topher to play the Punisher?

I've said all along, Topher would have been a great Peter Parker. He's nerdy charming, as Toby isn't... He was suppose to replace Toby for SM2 (Back issues from seabiscut). I wish... but Venom? That's a little much...

Bro....what do you do when you go to a movie?

You WATCH it. It's COMPLETELY visual!!!!! I don't get what you're going after! If he was voicing a cartoon, fine...but you have to LOOK at him. And when you look at him, he looks like he can't take a hard dump without giving himself a concussion!!!

ANYONE can play the part as far as ACTING, but if you look like Potsy from Happy Days you can NOT be a badass. Sorry....

Okay, let's cast Wanda Sykes as Venom! After all, we should't care about visual! Maybe she can be intense enough to pull it off!

This is why I'm pissed at this movie. Rami said he was going to stay as true to the Spidey legend as possible, and then he MANGLES it with this movie!

The first a young woman named Gwen Stacy, daughter of the city's new police chief who is developing a soft spot for Peter.
Gwen was Peter's FIRST girlfriend, long before Mary Jane. She was killed by the Green Goblin, who's already dead in this movie. Now, if they wanted to bring in another love interest for Peter, why not the Black Cat? Would have made more sense with the timeline. :shakeno:

The other, a black substance from an accident scene which 'merges' with Peter's costume and gives him new found abilities.
From an accident scene??? WTF? Why didn't they at least make JJ's son bring it back from space? The symbiote is an alien life form. How does it form from an "accident"? This is ridiculous.

They should have made JJ's son go on another space mission and become Man-Wolf in this one, and introduced the symbiote (by having him bring it home on his spaceship) to lay the groundwork for Venom coming in a future movie.

Add to that the casting of Topher "I knock myself over when I pee" Grace to play Venom, and I'm nervous that this may be as bad as George Clooney playing Batman.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it works.

I agree on the man-wolf part. It would have made a lot more sense to spidey fans for the symbiotes origin (since a secret wars line would be too big) and hollywood has become pretty good at werewolf type effects so it could have been a good element to the movie just from that point. Why they need to change it so drastically is beyond me. Lazy writers maybe impatient producers?

I watched the spoof trailer again and caught a shot from the Spawn movie that I had missed the first time.

Trust me bro, I'm one of the biggest Spiderman fans out there, that's why I'm so annoyed.

I don't think it's nitpicking. I didn't mind when they had Spidey's web come from his arm instead of from the webshooters he invented, or have the hairs come out of his hands to climb walls. That's not bad.

But to completely f*** with the stories? And to completely miscast the main villain? I dunno man.

Like I said, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I agree with you there...I guess you have to change it for hollywood though, no body wants to see the same story twice I guess

I gotta question for you Pagan, I followed more Dare Devil in my comic days, but I never remember Spidey having super strength, and it bothered me in the movies, what's the deal with that.
Nah bro, he always had super strength. He had the proportionate strength of a spider.

Not Superman-type strength, but WAY more than a normal human.

okay, that makes sense. The Spidey comics I had he never really did anything spectacular with his strenght so I always assumed he just got his strength from training.

Actually, yes, Spidey has super strength as he has plenty of times lifted cars/buses/other objects to toss them at enemies.

This is why I'm pissed at this movie. Rami said he was going to stay as true to the Spidey legend as possible, and then he MANGLES it with this movie!

Gwen was Peter's FIRST girlfriend, long before Mary Jane. She was killed by the Green Goblin, who's already dead in this movie. Now, if they wanted to bring in another love interest for Peter, why not the Black Cat? Would have made more sense with the timeline. :shakeno:

I still think Sam has just put out a bunch of fake info to mess with us à la Saban on draft day. At least I hope that is what he is doing. I wouldn't mind the symbiote being introduced in some way at the end (though I was hoping he wouldn't go that direction since the symbiote/Venom storyline is too big for even 2 movies). I could see Topher as Electro or hell, even Hobgoblin. Your wolf-man thing works, I just think wolf-man sucks ***.

I am still holding out hope, though it dwindles by the day.

Not Superman-type strength, but WAY more than a normal human. You know who would be a perfect Eddie Brock IMO? Smallville's Tom Welling... When Clark is in contract with red kypt. in Smallville he really plays the bad ***, FU, everyone is against me, etc... type of attitude well.

Brock Lesnar would play a good eddie brock...hes got the body for it

Anyway Im actually agreeing I think sam is throwing a bunch of smoke screens...I never once heard out of his mouth that topher is playing venom, just heard hes in the movie for all we know venom could be anyone, and topher could be somebody else

well as long as Lesnar didn't have too many lines he'd be an excellent suggestion to play Venom..

I agree, he would be pretty good. I was thinking David Boreanaz. Either one has more size than little Tophie and both have played parts with the type of attitude needed in Venom.

I'd say give lesnar maybe a grand total of 3 minutes of lines then have the sybiote take over him

I think a lot of people doubt Foreman now but he will do well even though he seems he doesn't suit the role! I also think they should of had someone a lot bigger and meaner!
