Here's a new rule that didn't get much attention last week -- visiting teams are now allowed to play with their own balls (makes sense to us, since it likely gets pretty lonely in those hotel rooms).

There is only so much quarterbacks can do with the balls as they prepared them for a game, but they are allowed to work on them with their equipment staff to ensure they aren't slick and are comfortable to throw
At least the equipment staff doesn't have to ensure they are slick
