I dont buy it, the comments section started around 1pm, and went on til 5pm, IF there was a deal even in principle it would be announced, they dont "wait til after the weekend" to announce that kind of news, its BS as of right now, later on perhaps but right now its BS imo

I heartily endorse this reasoning.

This f'n sucks if true. Arrington has alot of talent and our defense would be alot more fearce if you see him beside of Thomas and JT. If Holmes isn't there when it comes our turn at 16, then we should go after someone like Greenway, Lawson, Carpenter or Ryans.

you'd be the same one jumping up and down if we signed him.

By the way SuavePhin your sig is in error. The NCAA doesn't award a National Title in Div I football so Miami hasn't won any.

good if it's true now we move on . I'm glad it's done if it's true. Pick up a good young injury free Linbacker in the draft and groom him. We'll be fine. This is going to be a great season and I can't wait.

Go Fins. Still cold up here.:dolphins:

I find this hard to believe myself. I read through the blog as well as the replies and someone stated that there were 3 people close to the negotiations. Now how would this one blog writer have all this information but ESPN,,,NFL Network,,my God even PFT not mention a single word? Until
I see it from a credible source it is what it is,,,,just another rumor.

Who cares about this guy already. I just wish he would sign with anybody and go away. Personally I don't think his heart is into any team, he is just going for the money and I don't want that kind of player on the fins.

New York Newsday:

Giants trying to close a deal with Arrington

8:20 PM The Giants and LaVar Arrington have been in serious contract discussions for the past 24 hours and are very close to completing a deal, according to a person with knowledge of the talks.

ESPN.com, NFL.com, and all the other networks almost never say anything unless its offical. I'm surprised PFT.com hasn't picked up on it though if it's true...

I think Lavar will end up with the Giants, and the second option would be Green Bay over us in my opinion at this point in time.

No, I think this is all a smokescreen by The Sizzler in Rockaway, NJ to get Arrington to help them get rid of their Okra surplus.....

I think Arrington is going to be a Giant, but I don't buy this Packers stuff at all. They have been searching for a team to use as the competition, and it seems they have settled on using the Packers for their bluffs.

Doubt it. Not excited about the guy at all.

I have a feeling if Lavar suited up on opening Sunday wearing a Giants jersey, half the people on this board would still deny he signed with the Giants and say he was "just trying to throw everyone off".

I'm reminded of that Rolling Stones song that taught us that you can't always get what you want. That's the cap for you.

I am frankly pretty happy about not getting Arrington. He freelanced too much in DC and was rightfully benched. I was okay with Nick getting him at his price, but that wasn't in the cards because the Giants were willing to overpay.

No matter how you feel about Arrington, you have to know that getting him at the price paid by the Giants would have meant losing out on other opportunities. Was he really worth that?

Ohh okay. I am sure Saban just let him get away. You must be correct on that, right?

i don't think so. There was a reason why we didn't get LaVar. Money? Other issues? Who knows

We can't get every player out there. Who knows if LaVar ever actually wanted to play for us. Doesn't matter now
