At first glance,

DT's - Gabriel Watson, Roderique Wright, Orien Harris, Kyle Williams
OL's - Max Jean-Giles, Greg Eslinger, Jonathan Scott
QBs - Omar Jacobs
DE/OLB - Mark Anderson, Victor Adeyanju
WR's - Jason Avant, Demetrius Williams, Mike Haas
DB - Darnell Bing, Ko Simpson, Alan Zemaitis, Dee Webb, Demario Winter

Not bad. Anyone else I missed?

Has anyone heard anything on Pierre Woods from Michigan?

Gabe Watson would be a steal at a position of somewhat need in the 4th...the guy is Traylor huge, and if he could learn from Traylor himself on how to be a NT in a 3-4 scheme along with the coaching staff doing their jobs, it could be a mighty good thing. Wright would also be a nice pickup, but he's a 4-3 DT, not a 3-4.

If Eslinger is around, though, they might use the pick on him. I almost wish we could trade 2 of our 7th's to move up to the 5th or 6th. The talent is really that deep this year that good, good players are available on day 2. Watson is ESPN's 3rd-best DT on the board, and he didn't go in the first three rounds? Good thing we don't need a TE or ILB, because those are all gone.

While I'm a huge fan of Rod Wright and believe he has untapped talent, Watson is a guy who could be a great fit in the 3-4. He reminds me of Manny Wright...a huge DT with mad potential but has a lazy demeanor at times. we turned Wright around pretty quickly it seems. I'd definitely take Watson.

Aside from Wright, I believe another Longhorn, Jon Scott, is an awesome prospect pick. We will probably not take a O. lineman which is sad because I see Scott being better than Justice in the NFL, and much better than Pearson, McIntosh, Alabi, Shelton etc.. etc.. etc.. I really want to gun for this guy who was considered a potential top 10 pick before the season (and he went on to have a GOOD season).

In terms of the DB's, I think we could use more help but I don't think Saban will take one. I like Bing, a big guy with good defensive back mechanics. He's not a super athlete, but can compete and is pretty physical. Ko Simpson and Pat Watkins are both good players too, and Simpson would be a good addition but in the DB's, I could see Allen and Bing terrorizing for years.

My board would go like this for 2nd day picks...

Jon Scott
Gabe Watson
Max Jean-Gilles
Rod Wright
Darnell Bing
Ko Simpson
Orien Harris
Demario Minter

P.S. Is Kai Parham available? I completely forgot about him!

Another guy to look out for in the later rounds is Jesse Mahelona. I think he's a monster who underperformed in 2005. Prob. will be gone before we are picking with our 7th's, but you never know.

Good list but I'll add another name I've seen linked to the Phins, Parys Haralson, DE/OLB from Tennessee. Around 6-1, 248, 4.75. Tweener, may be better at RDE behind JT than at SLB where we have a need. Very high motor, regularly refrenced as "meanest guy on the field". Draft guides have him all over in expectations of what round he'll go in. Fits into Saban's SEC bias.

I will be beyond thrilled if we can get Mark Anderson. He led Bama in sacks and TFL last season, was SEC defensive player of the week in their big win over Florida, blocked a field goal in their bowl game...just seems like a guy with a lot of big play potential. His combine workout was fantastic, and reports are that he's a hard worker with good character.

Oh yeah, he also beat D'Brick for a sack in the Senior Bowl. Would be nice to see him repeating that against the Jets!

Is anybody else shocked Max Jean-Giles is still there?

I argued with some who thought he could be picked at 16, but I never would have guessed he'd fall that far.

im not sure why we spent a 3rd on hagan.....or why Saban wants to spend a 4th on Harrington. but we need those picks, and in the 4th round we gotta take either Gilles, Eslinger, or Watson. I prefer Watson, and in the 7th round, pick Degory. but i had this crazy dream last night that we chose a runningback with our 4th pick.....crazy. and im questioning Saban....he spends a 6th on an unproven QB, he wants to spend a 4th on Harrington, and out of all positions...we take a WR at #3. i really question Saban.

Ahhhhhhh. We NEED a WR. We do not have exciting depth at that position. If Booker or CC go down, what do we do? Hagan has been said to be the best WR comin out of the draft its just that he had a bad Senior Bowl.

This was a good pick at a position of need. Also, dont buy into that 4th for Joey thing until that deal is done. The 4th thing seems a bit wierd.

here is what id like to do...

trade one of our 4ths next year and a 7th this year, for ANOTHER 4th...grab Greg Eslinger and Gabe Watson. (or Orien Harris).

then try to come up with a trade to grab DJ Shockley in the 5th or 6th round. and thats the end of our draft, thats all we need. then in the supplemental draft, trade next years 3rd for Ahmad Brooks.....next year when Ricky Williams comes back, trade him away for a 3rd or 4th that we lost.

I would have no problem trading our #4 for Joey Harrington plus take our #3
from next year and move up and grab a Watson or a player of that quality.

It's gonna be fun to see how Coach spins the next part of the draft

lets not forget ahmad brooks, ILB virginia.

this guy is TERROR on the field, and 1st round talent. im sure Saban would love to have him play beside Thomas and Crowder.

I highly doubt we'll get a deal for Harrington done today. Millen is such an idiot. After the draft, Harrington's stock goes way down, until camp injuries occur. Of course this will be after June 15th...after McNair and a few other QB's are released, and after Harrington is due 4 Million.

We'll probably end up getting Harrington for next years 6th or 7th at this rate.
