Not sure what I think about the new James Bond.

The trailer isn't working for me, anyway I know what he looks like and I don't like it, the last thing I wanted to see was some gay, blond haired, douche playing James Bond. Connery and Brosman were the best to play James Bond IMO, then comes Roger Moore but I always thought he was too uptight to play Bond.

 I love that guys are complaining about the guy's looks. Just who would be hot enough to play him? I vote for Jason Taylor, our sexiest player.

Sean Connery was the best Bond. Wasn't Woody Allen once James Bond? Also David Niven. George Lazenby was the worst.

In the original Casino Royale, which was done as a campy comedy  David Niven was Bond, who was retired; Woody played his inept son, who wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps but was a total dope.

Casino Royale was Ian Fleming's very first Bond book, BTW.

Thanks Nabo...I thought it was something like that. I think Q was in the most James Bond movies....love his gadgets.

We'll see if this new guy works as Bond or not.

IMO the only working actor with the looks, the grace, the bearing, the wit and the easy sophistication required of the character is Jude Law. Not to mention the genuine accent, since any Bond has to be British. Law is the only one who could have made that role his.

I think Collin Farrell would have made a good Bond...I think he is Irish and not English, but close enough.

I agree. Jude Law would be the perfect Bond - without a doubt. He "reeks" of Bonds characteristics.

Roman, he's the first one I thought of; but I saw him in person in Miami while he was filming Miami Vice, and I don't think the guy is taller than 5'5"...not very Bond-ish at all.

But other than that, he'd be ideal; after all, Sean Connery is Scottish, and he was the original.

Ohh hey Nabo I didn't realize he was that short...I think Collin is going to be in the Miami Vice movie as Sonny Crockett...that's a stretch. The Best Bond girl was Ursula Andress in Dr. NO....the best name was Pu$sy Galore.

 Ursula...and Jill St. John in Diamonds are Forever. Yummy...

Hey, just saw the trailer...this dude looks like a real badass...maybe too much so, like Timothy Dalton.

That should be good. I remember the fake white Ferrari that Crockett drove...I think it was a Ferrari kit body on a Corvette frame. I liked Edward James Olmos on the tv show...hope they make it similar to the show.

I thought the trailer and new actor look really promising and cool, but I don't know what to think of this new movie as him as a rookie. Oh well, cant really judge until the movie comes out. I've considered Timothy Dalton as the best, because he was just like the character out of the novels and first two films.

Love the James Bond Movies..I have seen them all. I think Brosnan was the best James Bond. It sucks he gave up on the whole Bond gig. I think this movie can be good as the trailer does make it seem really good, but I don't like the new Bond..his looks suck for 007. :nono: It is going to be weird now..I wonder If people will be able to adjust to R and the new 007....

Now that Q has passed away, R will be taking his place as the new gadget guy. Hence why Q wasn't in Die Another Day...

Yeah, but John Cleese was Q in Die Another Day and "R" was just a pun made in The World Is Not Enough at Q's assistant(again, Cleese). Q is a position like M. Besides, I heard they will keep the high tech action scenes low in Casino Royale and won't have Q back until the next one, so I've read.

I don't have a problem with Dainel Craig as Bond, per se. And a grittier tone is actuallymuch truer to the tone of the original Fleming novels. What I can't wrap my brain around is setting this up ast Bond's first adventure but leaving Judi Dench as M. Wha-huh?

Doc, I'm guessing the idea is to establish a new franchise, separate of the Cubby Broccoli films. So continuity isn't a consideration I guess.

And yes, a grittier tone is fine by me. I'm one of the few who liked Timothy Dalton as Bond.
