i saw van halen open for journey during van halen 2 - seeing them now even with diamond dave would be disheartening...

Amen...I saw them opening for Sabbath on their first tour in '78.

i remember that tour - must have been interesting, seeing black sabbath on their last legs especially with the bickering and a very raw and hungry van halen opening - i loved never say die though... but then i always thought technical ecstasy was their best record...

van halen was so cool back then - they were definitely the kings - woman and children first is so hard and has so much personality - fair warning was the last great record they made and then came mtv... :down:

women and children 1st was my favorite also. diver down was also sweet. i stopped listening after mtv took over van halen w/ 1984 overexposure.

David Lee Roth and Van Halen were unreal from about about 1980 to 1985....Panama was a kick *** song and video...but Diamond Dave got old and sold out. Then Van Hagar was a poor inmitation of what they were. Maybe like the guys in Kiss, they should hang it up.
