Hey, I'm having a cookout this weekend, and wanted some outside opinions as of what to buy more of. What's your favorite? thanks.....

p.s. pardon my white trash spelling, it's 'requirements' not 'requirments'

Beef tastes better, but I tend to eat chicken more just because it's better for you.

On the Grill? Oh it's gotta be beef. A good ol fashioned Steak *smacking lips* Mmm Mmmmmm...

Pork and chicken have their place, but for a cookout it's all about the steak baby. :D

I'll always vote for fish. Healthy and really good grilled. We also always grill corn on the cob. Soak it in water for 30 minutes then throw it on until the shucks are burned. It rules!

If its a bunch of guy, its all about the beef. If you have some chicks, make sure to have some tofu burgers. Atleast that has been my experiences.

"Steak? Isn't that beef? Like from a cow? Isn't that cruel? Do you have something else? Like tofu?" Yeah, so a very fat chick told me this at the last BBQ I was at. I was thinking, "Look lady, you look like you ate a whole heard of cows, I wouldn't worry about one steak." I guess tofu is low fat or something, thats why she wanted it......

I don't eat red meat so I'll have to go with Chicken. Salmon grilled on a cedar plank, marinated with honey, cajun seasoning, sea salt, pepper, and papricka makes for an absolutely incredible dish as well. I'm serious about that one too, if any of you want that recepie I'd be happy to provide it...it's amazing!!!

Hook it up. I'm always into new ways to prepare fish.

I'll post the recepie here in a couple of days (I have to dig it out.) Trust me on this one though, even people who don't like salmon (my wife for example) usually dig this dish. I'll start another thread so you all know it when I post it.

Sausages are easy...
Buy Hot Italian sausages, boil them in a pot on the stove before grilling (so they are cooked through and you don't kill anyone ;)) then grill some onions and peppers (brush a little olive oil on them and place them on the grill or a special veggie grill)

There are people to kill in Saskatchewan? I figured, ya know, being outnumbered by moose and all, a moose steak would be on the menu.

p.s. pardon my white trash spelling, it's 'requirements' not 'requirments' back in the 60's, i was in a boys camp, compliments of the state of california, and we had a contract to pick up wild boar that had been shot by farmers. santa barbara is the only place you'll find russian boar in the western hemisphere, and i can tell you true there is nothing better than a pork steak, barbequed, luau style!;)

How is it that I was the only one to pick this up. Peebs voted other from the choices of beef, chicken, and PORK because he perfers italian sausages. Because you all know when you are thinking about a barbecue you have to run out and shoot you up a wild sausage. Quick Peebs what animal does sausage come from?

Or maybe you all noticed it, but I am the only bastard to point it out. Either way it made me laugh.

I couldn't vote. I do agree with infins here. Nothing is better than a mean pork tenderloin(or a "hog log" as my boys from the hood referred to them as) marinated in teriakyi. The reason i couldn't vote though is because that is the apitizer. After the "hog log" you have to polish off burger, and then a 8oz steak. Top it off with clearing the pick nick table, and playing a few rounds of beer pong. Gdamn I wish I could go back to college!
