While Pacino was amazing, ya gotta give it to Pesci. The man can go from cracking you up to scaring the **** out of you in an instant!

I voted Cagney, but Robinson and Pacino would work for me too. Pagan, I just don't get Pesci, he has never scared me...what role did you have in mind?

See the thing about Pesci is, he does not embody the mob boss role. He is the guy that collects on debts, shakes down business owners, runs the lower operations. He has asperations to be big, but he never will. Thats what makes him scary. He is like the one white guy in a African American gang, you dont know what the hell he had to do to get in.

What's Bogie doing in there? He wasn't known for his mafiosa roles....

Anyway...DeNiro, Pacino, or Brando... hmmmm... I'll go with DeNiro

Side note... substitute Bogie with Gandolfini ;)

Have you ever seen "Goodfellas" or "Casino"? Both are great movies. Anyhow, Pesci plays a loose cannon, don't take crap from anyone characther in both movies. He had his characthers down and gave some of the best performances i've ever seen.

I gotta go with Bobby D., but Gandolfini is definitely deserving of a spot in the poll. He has played at least three different mobsters I'm aware of (Tony, Bear in Get Shorty, and whatever his name was in True Romance).

****, where's Steven Van Zandt?? Is he not the perfect wiseguy??

And how many times have you heard "That's him!?!" when someone is told it's Steven Van Zandt from the E Street Band.

Brando played such and excellent role in the Godfather. He not only captured the raw brutality of a crime boss, but also his everyday family life. It has always been said, "these guys can kiss their grandson on the forehead and then go out and slice someone's throat. I think Brando captured that.

You can't go wrong with Brando,DeNiro or Pacino as your "typical mob-boss" kind of guy,for me I do like Pecsi(only cause he cracked me up in Goodfellas).
Armand Asante was pretty good in the TV production of Gotti. This guy btw is just awesome as a mobster/muscle guy his name ishttp://www.finheaven.com/clear.gifhttp://www.finheaven.com/clear.gifhttp://www.finheaven.com/clear.gifJoe Viterelli.

Pesci. He really nails the unstable cold-blooded bad mofo.

My favorite line from Casino is when he stabs a guy in the neck/face with a pen.

Something to the effect of "Oh do you hear crying? What happened to the big man who told my friend to shove it up his ***?"

I voted for Pesci, largely because he seems ridiculous in any role where he's not a mobster!

I'd have to go with Pacino of 1 and 2 as opposed to the Pacino of Scarface. The cold blooded, understated way he plays Michael Corleone is just brilliant. It's like he doesn't want the life, but if he's going to live it, he's going to be the most ruthless son of a ***** he can be in the process. Michael Corleone isn't obnoxious, isn't a ladies man, isn't flamboyent. He's just scary. Now Tony Montana is just iritating, and that role almost makes me want to say DeNiro. But it's gotta be Pacino.
