Hey guys,

I'm going to be buying my wife an MP3 player and was just wondering which is your preference. I know it's all about the ipod these days, so I have checked into the Nano on Cnet.com. They seem to like it, and say it's the better one in its class. She'll be using it for when she goes running. She doesn't need the 60 gb or even the 30 gb. Just something to hold a couple hundred songs. Any suggestions?

Thanks

30gb iPod video. :D

:yeahthat: A lot of people I know got the nano and then wished they had gotten the video. Even if you don't think you need the room for songs you can fill it up with pictures, videos, and you can download a lot of TV shows now too.

If you do get the nano you may need to buy a hard case for it when your wife is running. The screen used to be weak, not sure if they have fixed it.

30gb iPod video. :D

yeppers!

even though you say she doesn't need the 30g, I would still go with the 30g just in case she expands her music collection, and believe me she will want to once she gets it.

also you can put your pics, and movies on it.

all for pretty much the same price as a nano.

I have a 30g and I have no idea how I ever lived off a CD walkman alone for all those years. My ipod spoils me :D

iPod all the way. I'm really really hoping the rumors about the vPod are true. I'd love to have one of them.

i-pods are great (30 gig Video)... BUT they do have problems...problems i have seen... Broken batteries..Broken screens (i dropped mine)..corrupted software...Corrupted Hard drive... and so on...

BUT... In every case it was taken to the i-pod store (or best buy) and either completely replaced or fixed for free...and you still kept your warranty.

Now this was not all one i-pod...this was a nano, 30 gig video, 40 gig orig, another 30 gig video, and another original one...

Overall i'm a very satisfied customer!

i'd say it's a good idea to not drop the iPod.

i have several seasons of seinfeld on mine and several episodes of mst3k. i watch them at work. :D it's so great. apples needs to add radio and television support next.

In my house we have a 40gig ipod 2 creative zen micros a 2gig nano and a 4gig nano. If your after small size go with the nano but the creative has better sound, a better interface and a better software package

They already have both, unless your talking about live TV.

Oakley Thumps! Can't go wrong with this. They look cool and will stay on for any activity.

Best MP3 player ever. Especially for those people who love music and physical activity.

I just stick with the average CD player.

Thanks guys. The video/pics aren't what she's looking for. I'm thinking the Nano 4GB will do just fine (with a case).

The price is worth getting the 30 gig, its like $50 bucks more if you shop right!

I have been thinking about getting a MP3 player also but I don't know anything about them. If you have an Ipod can you use any MP3 or do you have to get them from Itunes because if I can't use what I already have then it would'nt be worth if for me to get one. What else is good other than the Ipod?

you can use any that you have. You just have to load them on to Itunes so you can upload them to your Ipod
