KC have now got a very good CB combo in Surtain and Law. Law should improve the Chiefs secondary and will life be harder for Randy Moss in the AFC west.

Please post in the proper forum.

According to espn.com, Ty Law has reached an agreement on a 5 year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs

seriously, Surtain and Law, plus the rookie Pollard at safety, Derrick Johnson, Jared Allen, Kendrell Bell Healthy, and Kawika Mithcell

Damn Law and Surtain together....WOW!!!!!

I would agree with that sentiment if this happened a few years back.

They will be a strong duo this year, don't know about next year though.

I think they will be very dominant this year. If the Chiefs had a half decent defense then they would be really good. Look out Broncos fans!

great move by the chiefs..should be interesting to see how that defense pans out

The chiefs secondary has the potential of being very good this year. We'll see if those two old timers can be there backbone.

I didn't see this posted. Looks like Law went to the Chiefs w/ a five year deal. For those who wanted Miami to sign him (I'm not one of them), there goes that idea...

My guess is that Law's contract is structured in a way that it becomes cap prohibitive to keep him past 2007.

Ty Law, Patrick Surtain, and Sammy Knight, just wow.

so, since ty law has signed with Kansas City, with our Surtain.

does this make KC a legitamte SB contender? Will they overtake San Diego? The broncos are tough, but I think this is someone to keep an eye on.

he signed a 5 year deal too......that's crazy

You're a fool. Ty Law led the league in interceptions last year at the age of 32. He did not report to training camp last year. GO FIGURE.

He's got plenty of gas left in the tank and can play through the end of that contract, at least three more years, maybe 4. But cornerbacks' athletic abilities and physical durability detriorate much faster than most positions. Just look at how fast Sam Madison and Patrick Surtain's skill winded down?

Just to let you guys know..

CHIEFS: CB Ty Law, 32 and a five-time Pro Bowl selection, agreed to a five-year deal. Law, 32, will rejoin Herman Edwards, who coached him with the Jets last year, when the veteran came back from a severe foot injury and led the NFL with 10 interceptions.

I think this will just help expose KC's horrible run Defense but they now have the option of stacking the box because of there talented corners!

Now forgive me if this has been posted, I've been busy over the last few months. Does this signing put them in the Superbowl? With Herm Edwards who was able to get a lot out of a Jets team that I was never impressed with to a team that is loaded in Offense side and now has probably two of the best corners (Pat Surtain will always be the best in my eyes). The only thing I think would be a negative is that Surtain and Law both are slow to recover from injuries, but in my eyes this is a big signing for that Defense over there in Kansas City. Reminds me of the Dolphins defense a couple years of go when Madison and Surtain were both playing well. What do you guys think?

I really do think KC has a legit chance to make it far this year. Trent Green is very consistent. They just need to secure the run defense.
