Senior industry sources have revealed to Next-Gen.Biz that the E3 industry event, in its present form, has been cancelled for next year and the foreseeable future.

Wow, this sounds like some sort of collusion, if you ask me. For aLL the major players to stand up at once and decide they are no longer going to support E3 sounds fishy. That sucks because it is by far the biggest video games expo in North AMerica.

who cares, no matter what previews come out we still get to see the finished product which is way better than the beta products!

Yes but the booooooooooooth Baaaabes!!!

You beat me to it. Even though they started cracking down on their attire this past year. It was still good to see the demonstrations and get a peak at all the eye-candy.

It is their own fault. If they just didn't go crazy and had a bunch of new things without all these huge displays then everyone would be fine.

Don't accuse me of spreading rumors then follow up with a different rumor of the same subject. I only posted what Next-Gen, which is a pretty reputable site, had put in their headline.

From the Next-Gen article...
ESA president Doug Lowenstein will likely announce the news some time within the next 48 hours, possibly on Monday. It's likely that the ESA will seek to limit the damage by organizing some form of lesser event in May, possibly even with the E3 brand, but this will be no more than a fig-leaf. The days of an industry event attended by all the major publishers, spending big money, are gone.

According to that, even if it's downsized, it's not E3 anymore as we've known it for the past 11 years.

Hopefully, we'll find out the truth tomorrow.

The article you linked to is speculative. They even say that in the article. Again, just re-read the title you put there and the way you posted the news. You posted a speculative observation as a fact.

Ok, I see what you mean. In my defense, the title read "E3 FINISHED" and in a sense, the E3 that has been presented the past 11 years is done, but there will still be a trade show. Also, it's officially called the "E3Expo", so that would make it E4, so "E3" is dead. :D

I apologize if I confused anyone.

They are downsizing it and moving it to July. Hopefully, everyone shows up because I was worried a big name publisher or two was going to pull out. A huge part of the appeal of E3 was that everyone in the industry shows up in one place at one time in one giant information explosion. It appears everyone is still in for now, so that's good news.

Change the name of the thread to "Med overreacts to unconfirmed rumor by Next-Gen". :goof:

Thats odd. Every gaming site around has some sort of E3 coverage.

I just think that everyone saw the bill for this years E3 and they were like WTF???

So they just want to spend less money.

I dont think it'll be a big deal games news wise unless of course your actually able to attend.
