In an effort to slow down confusion, and reduce the amount of PMs I get on this subject (not sure when I turned into an expert on anything  ), The Mor is posting the official news on the E3 changes that have taken place.

The Exibition known as E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) will now be known as The E3 Media Festival (stupid name imo).

The event will be severely downsized to cater to invited members of the media ONLY. How dramatic is the downsizing? Well, in 2006 E3 had 60,000 guests. In 2007, The E3 Media Festival will host 5000 guests (yes, that's 5000 guests - That's 91% smaller). This is a MAJOR downsizing.

The event is also being moved to July as opposed to May. It will also not be hosted in the LA Convention Center any longer... They will use 2 hotels with confrence rooms and suites...

It's not cancelled. Here's an article from less than an hour ago.

Game demonstrations will still be present at future shows, but without the large, flashy booths that were present at the past E3 shows.

Although E3 2007 will remain in Los Angeles, it will be move to a much smaller venue, with a hotel being a likely candidate. The date of the event will also be changed from May to early July, so that exhibitors will be able to present better demonstrations. Details about more modifications will be revealed in the next several months. The new format is expected to lower costs for the companies that attend E3. Next year's event will also be called the "E3 Media Festival."
