wow... I NEVER saw that coming. That's actually a smart move for them... It's almost guaranteed to get their bug-ridden almost spyware crap on a few more million people's PC's by saying "It keeps you safe for free".

No thanks for me, but from a business perspective, smart for AOL.

they are going the yahoo mail route (ad supported free email) to try and make up the revenue... they just got earnings reports with 40% increases in ad revenue. and there is really no way to turn around the AOL brand name. people with broadband are ready to take off the training wheels, which is all AOL was: internet with training wheels.
