Were in a 12 player league and im picking 9th!! CAn i Do damage?

which players ca n i take!! can i win?

definetly get a RB with either the 9th or 16th pick. It really depends on the league settings, but u definetly need a good number one RB with one of those picks, Ronnie Brown should be there at 9 or Lamont Jordan . . if u get points for completions think of Peyton Manning or maybe a stud receiver if receptions gets u a point. If its standard, maybe go with 2 RB's, all depends.

U can definetly win at that position . . I always like drafting late in round 1, because u can usually get a top RB and a top QB or WR with the pick, so u should walk away with 2 good picks. Sometimes when u draft first, sure u get Shaun or LJ, but when u get back, alot of guys u may have wanted in the second round are gone.

I still can't view the rules cuz I'm not in the league, but I'm gonna assume u got standard scoring, with not extra points for receptions, carries or completions.

In that case if I was drafting 9th, I would probably go ahead and draft 2 RB's, because they will be the staple of your team. Now this could all change if a guy like Manning is there at 16, then I would go ahead and roll with him, but most likely he will be gone in round 1. So at 9 u take the best RB available. I'm guessing that will be Ronnie Brown, Lamont Jordan or Steven Jackson (of course if guys like Tiki or Portis is there, which I have seen go that late u jump on one of them).

At 16, u might see Cadillac Williams still on the board, if he's there, u take him. But u never know how a draft will work. I have drafts where Ronnie Brown has went 16th, so it all depends. But in "standard scoring" league, its extremely important to have good RB depth, because they provide good trade bait later on for a position u may lack.

Kdawg u there

08-06-2006, 04:05 PM
Okk I get you!!
but than I neeed a WR and QB Who can be there that is goood

After u pick up your 2 stud RB's, then u have a ton of choices with the 33rd pick. Antonio Gates could be a factor here, and that would solve your TE prob not to mention he should put up stud receiver numbers, or if one of the big name wide outs are still available . . i.e Chambers, Harrison . . u can't go wrong there either. QB is a deeper position, and unless u get a stud like Manning, u never know what the other guys will do, Palmer would usually be up there, but he is comming off injury and I have heard he might not be ready for week 1. Ideally u could do something like this:

9 - Ronnie Brown
16 - Cadillac Williams
33 - Antonio Gates
40 - Hines Ward

That would be great. QB u can get later . . after those 4, u should be thinking RB again or another WR. Get those 2 out the way, then u can go for QB, or if u want, u can take QB 5th round and get a guy like Mcnabb possibly, its all feel and it all how others drafted, who's available and its all how the bye weeks go, its rather complicated.

WOOW ur smart cookie

i like the idea!! but what bout QB? whos there

08-06-2006, 04:26 PM
IS Rudi a better pick than Ronnie?

08-06-2006, 04:35 PM
Eh, not IMO, but he was last year . . I feel Ronnie is due to break out this season, and Rudi will definetly be getting touches taken away by Chris Perry who has been proven to valuable to leave on the sidelines. Ronnie will have nobody threatening him for touches, just like Cadillac wont, they are both workhorses, something u want in your RB.

08-06-2006, 04:39 PM
QB wise, iono there is so much depth there, I mean I see Mcnair going in round 10, Brunell in round 10, guys like Delhomme in round 7 or 8, most importantly u get starters late with QB's and WR's, RB after the first 3 or 4 rounds, most of the main guys are gone, then u get into guys who will be splitting carries or guys who could take over eventually, thats why its good to get your 2 and be safe, but always keep in mind to get a third one. Whether its Addai or Frank Gore, get somebody else, because if one of your boys go down, u look baddd, and always keep an eye on the waiver wire for an RB who is taking over ala Gado in Greenbay, he helped alot of teams last year.

hahahah!! Welll Im in a money LEague

Go either RB/RB or RB/WR depending on who is there in the second round. Too many people go QB to early, Manning is the only one I would consider in the late first, early second and if you do that you better know your stuff because you need to really scramble to get quality RB's and a decent WR corp.

I have pick 8 in my league. Im hoping Lamont Jordanis still around. If not Steven Jackson Im really considering. I think hew is due for a breakout year.

On the comeback im looking Top tier WR, another solid RB or if manning is still there I will jump on him (though I doubt he will still be there).

Good staratgy, but I would take SJax over Lamont any day, Lamont could still be there on your comeback pick, Sjax will not be.
