That's funny! I couple of summers ago I hiked up Tuckerman's ravine in NH with some buddys. And it was August but still a patch of snow about 25 yards long, and there was a line of people (at least 15) still skiing it in bathing suits! It was the funnest thing, I wish I had my camera that day, because 3 babes in bikini's were smoking hot!:rolleyes2

Even though the fog obscured half of it, it really was awesome. There's something about being in the presence of a landmark like that -- an icon, really -- that is inspiring.

It depends on which end I start at. If I start from the Canadian side, I usually make it to the Rose & Crown Pub in United Kingdom Pavillion before I stop for a drink or six.

Then when you get to Moroccan Pavillion, everything comes to a halt. I'm not sure why....

I went to Jamaica on my Honeymoon in 1986, we hated it. But it rained all week, it was during the riots so we had barb wire and a machine gunner on the roof of the hotel and the floods the week before washed up coffins onto the beach!

So that may have had something to do with it.

Hi, NJ. I've been skiing out west at least 10 times. I recommend for you Breckenridge--close enough to also ski A-Basin if you want a variety without driving or shuttling too far. (Or even Keystone, for beginners.) Crested Butte is out there another plane ride. Breckenridge is convenient, and has the most lovely little town.

Breckenridge is a quaint town. My dad taught me to ski @4;I've been all over the Northeast. Nothing like Colorado to cure one of long lines and ice skiing, no? I still do the family ski vacation between Christmas and New Years in the Northeast, and it's fun chasing my nephews on their snowboards. For the last few years, maybe five, I've found more interest in international travel. Nonetheless, Colorado is an unparalled beauty. I've enjoyed your pictures.

I heard Breckenridge is nice. I know Crested Butte is out there, but boy did we love the town and mountain.

We go skiing over New Years at Gore in Upstate NY.

Your right about the ice skiing, my first run in Colorado I was killing myself, I was so use to using my edges, I kept digging in to deep and going over!!

Nice pic! I pretty much like going fishing, but mostly I like being on the boat. We have a deal that we stop at Molasses reef on the way in so I can snorkle. Saw a couple hundred pound sea turtle last time.

I can't bear when the dolphin lose their colors or thrash around in the cooler  I've learned to deal with some things though  We lived down there a few years ago. It's a much better place to visit

Jupiter Inlet mostly. Used to fish Hilsboro & Port Everglades and Miami Beach a lot more when we had a boat down here. My brother and mother moved up there. That's where the boat is, and the fishing is WAY better up there anyway.

That wahoo was mid 60s lbs. That sailfish lived just fine.

And that swordie was foul hooked. In the tail!!! it took 3 hours,
and 12 heinikens to reel in. All 3 of us. Fish died on the surface.
Hook fell out, and my brother grabbed the fish by the freggin bill!
Took all of us to get it in the boat. Coast guard chopper flew over
on the way back. Shined the spot on the boat, saw the fish, and
tipped their wing at us when they took off. The damn fish was WAY bigger than me.

Everyone we knew ate swordfish sammiches for 3 weeks.

hey, at least you get out. My brother just called. Spot open on
Blackdog for Sunday. And I have to work :boohoo:

Guy is the BEST fisherman (for bottom fishing) in Jupiter. For $70, you
will absolutely LOAD UP. I couldn't recommend anything better for a charter.
Especially if you can get a couple guys together. Super cool dude too.

anyway, back to VACATION pics....

Because the code was all backwards. I removed the unneeded code and just left them as links. The images themselves are huge. When you upload to imageshack, there should be a box that says "thumbnail". THAT'S what you want to post. It posts the thumbnail here, and makes each one clickable to the larger image. :)

It is a boat club boat my momma joins and we leech off of. Or we rent
other boats. Or we occasionally take charters. Haven't had a boat personally for a long time, and then it was pops. So 14' alumicraft >>>>> jack shat, anyday o the week.

As to the radar, those guys are clowns. I can see a farking squall with my eyes. GPS is flipping sweet, for lobster spots. Depth/fish finders help, but are no means part of our skillset.

Water & weather conditions, great live bait, and a sweet setup (we kite fish, drop a couple deep, have 7+ lines in) make us tournament fishermen.

I would love to be invited on the alumicraft to pound beers and catch catfish!!!! :tantrum:

I used to get a summit county pass every winter (Breck, Keystone, Copper and Vail). Funny, I probably spent 85% of the time at Copper. Especially the "B" lift and the upper bowl.....or the Bowl behind the "B" lift-now that is extreme stuff:eek: .
I have a pick of me racing at Copper, might have to see if I can scan and post...

Thanks to everybody for the pics....
My favorite run was the one all the way left, if you're facing the mountain sorry, it's been so long ago that i don't have any idea what lift it was....i think there was a gondola lift nearby

I do remember a big bowl area, at the top near one of the lifts, that was right around the center of the mountain I think....

The lift way to the left would be the "B" lift I spoke of. If you get off and actually traverse backwards away from the runs and the lift there is a H U G E bowl.
There was also a nice little bowl in the middle above the American flyer high speed quad there are a handfull of lifts that go up to smaller peaks. One or two of those also had some REALLY bumpy bowls as I remember

gosh...I gotta a very vague recollection of a lot of empty space around the top of that lift but, it could be completely different since then...I have a great shot of me,my brother and my dad standing on that run....about halfway down there is a big drop, with mogules below....straight out is probably one of the most beautiful views on the mountain....we're standing in front of it. :cooldude:

Thanks for making me search my memory banks, It helped me defrag a few things. We spent 7 days staying in Dillon and just going from mountain to mountain in the vicinity, and sometimes I have a hard time associating certain memories with the right mountain. :googly:
