Slash in November Rain; Carlos Santana in Oye Como Va and the end of Black Magic Woman, and all of Samba Pa Ti; BB King in practically anything he's ever done.

But Pagan's right, too many to pick any more than a random sampling, and then it's all so subjective.

Not my favorite song in the world, but Eddie VH's solo on "Beat It" is really tight.

Lots of other good ones listed here.

Just last night I went to a demo practice for our possible upgrade to a Bose system and my friend who is an incredible guitarist played parts of eruption. It sounded good in some areas, but for the most part, it fell short. He'll even tell you people opt for the cheap version of it, but it is tough to pull off for real.

When I was younger, my guitar teacher who was a master classical guitarist played it in the most incredible representation of it I have ever heard. I also remember him saying it was a great solo.

That's the only two times I have heard it someone do it.

Anything by Joe Satrianin but I've always like "Always with me, Always with You" as Brother Budd can agree.

On a lighter note...Michael Jackson's guitar player in "Dirty Diana". Not my favorite song by a long shot but I figured this was the only way Michael Jackson would ever get mentioned in this thread.

Not a solo, but impressive. When I was in high school, we (my band) played it in the variety show.

Take it on the Run - REO Speedwagon
November Rain - GNR
Save Your Love - Great White
Don't Look Back - Boston
Mr. Crowley - Ozzy (RR, one of the best...ever)
Sleeping in the Fire - W.A.S.P (my all time favorite)
Don't Talk to Strangers - DIO
Hallowed be the Name - Iron Maiden
Ashes in the Sky - Loudness
The Call of Ktulu - Metallica
Beat It - Michael Jackson
Alive - Pearl Jam
Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Computer Blue - Prince
Don't Take Me for Granted - Social Distortion
Love Song - Tesla
The Idol - W.A.S.P

Alive is one of those songs that I don't need to listen to when I drive, makes that right foot get a little heavy.
I had a ritual. My friends and I used to go to New Orleans almost every weekend to party. Coming from Mississippi on I-10, you go over the "High Rise" bridge, and on the top was the view of the city in the distance. I had to have the solo playing every time we went over the top. Back then, EVERYONE drove like a bat out of hell in that area. At that time, I had a '68 Camaro with a Hotchkis suspension kit and a warmed over 327:evil:
Oh man, to have those days back.....

Nice man...I actually heard it while driving today! That's what made me think of it. Come to think of it, I did get to work a little faster than usual:lol:

I can't pick "the best"..so many to choose from.

One solo that usually gets my air guitar working is "Cult of Personality"-Living Colour. It rocks and Vernon Reid is an underrated guitarist (not among musicians, but the general public :D )
