I was always thought Machine Gun Jack McGurn was interesting. I don't know if you play computer games but "Mafia" is one of my all time favs as well.

I like that kind of stuff too, also stuff on other gangs. Don't matter what kind. I like history alot. Kind of weird you think because you're hearing this from a teenager, but I love history it's one of my favorite subjects.

What is interesting to me is how the Mafia is almost respected in many ways. There is a "coolness" about it that sort of lures your interest.

However, the Mafia is responsible for some very brutal actions. Italian Americans are noted for being very angry people. I think one of the best representations of this anger in the Mafia is in The Godfather. There are several scenarios in which raw anger is carried out, but yet these brut killers could preside over the baptism of an infant, or sit in a chair cuddlling a cat.

Being Italian, I sometimes get the, "ohh so are you in the mob or something?" But, understanding what the Mafia is, it's nothing to joke about or even claim association with.

Ironic enough, I just bought the Godfather Dvd Collection (all 3 movies & some other disc that I haven't checked out yet) yesterday along with Inside Man. I find the lifestyle and everything pretty cool, especially for the "respect" factor..

The mafia started out as a "good" organization in Sicily in the late 20th century. People needed protection from the police and the cosa nostra took care of them and offered protection. They then came to the United States where they got involved in drugs, racketeering and other illegal activities.

I saw The Godfather when I was seven with my dad. As we were leaving I told him I wanted to be a gangster. He smacked the back of my head and told me I missed the point of the movie.

so whats everyones fav. mob movies?

I like Goodfellas and Godfather 1 and 2, the best. But, Miller's crossing, untouchables, mobsters and The Funeral are all very solid crime films.
