The Beastie Boys are in the midst of writing and recording material for their next album.

In an interview with JAM!, the trio confirmed they've begun work on the yet-to-be-titled disc.
Adam Yauch (a.k.a. MCA) said the band's follow-up to 2004's "To The 5 Boroughs" will most likely be another self-produced effort.
Pressed for details, Adam Horowitz (a.k.a. Ad-Rock) promised the new set of songs will be the Beasties' "best ever." "Wait 'til you hear the new **** that we’re working on. The **** is hot."

Awesome. I'm not really a fan of Mixmaster Mike's production, but the lyrics and style of the Boys usually offset that. While I didn't like Hello Nasty, I did like To the Five Boroughs.

their collection is a lot of fun. I think my favorite is most Beastie's favorites, Paul's Boutique, but followed by Ill Communication.

Mixmaster Mike doesn't produce the records, Ad Rock does most of the production. They should bring Mario C. back for this one, although I don't see that happening.

I love these gys but I'm not exatly sure what the climate is for a new Beasties album. I know they have their hardcore fan base but I don't really see them making new fans at this point. Well, they have earned to go out how they want, I guess.

Me too. But The Beatles are soooooooooooo lazy now they haven't written anything since 1970 ,what the hellllll are Lennon and Harrison's problems, they don't want to make music?

Man, good ole John just hasn't done much of ANYTHING in years has he?

Oh well.
