There was a video posted on YouTube.com with a segment of Wolf Blitzer's report on CNN. At the beginning of the video, Wolf seems to have fallen prey to a Howard Stern prank. If it's true, it doesn't say too much about CNN's screening process. Did anyone see it live?

Just a note: If it was a Stern prank, shame on him for doing so about a matter as sensitive as the one he chose.

Just to clarify, HOWARD STERN HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS. Captain Janks is the prank caller who does these on his own valition without consulting Howard at all. Howard does play them on his show because he finds them funny, but he doesn't employ Captain at all.

As for the pranks themselves, Captain claims he does them to show how inept all these television screening processes are as he claims to be anyone from all over the country, yet he always calls from a landline in Philadelphia. Any small amount of background check would squash his chance to get on the air. However, these news people are so hard up to get the "scoop" that they throw caution to the wind and let him on.

I have heard Captain call up as the Mayor of San Diego during the Fires out west a couple years back. He pranked Dan Rather during the Space Shuttle crash a few years back. He pranked Dan Patrick on Sportscenter as Steve Bartman the week he was famous. He pranked CNN during the hurricanes, DC sniper, and others.

I agree that the timing of these calls seems harsh, however the news agencies should be held responsible.

The guy who does that is a grown man? Why would a grown man make prank phone calls?
