George is better than their backup (Walter?) and Aaron Brooks. True, he`s got more baggage than just about player in history, but he`s got the strongest arm I`ve ever seen in person...and that list includes Marino and Elway.

Yeah, and when he was with them before the L.A. newscasters who were calling the Raider games were calling him a loser.:sidelol:

Shocking...simply shocking...

I will say this about George though...when he was on, the man could flat out FIRE the football. Lightning fast release like Dan but a much stronger arm.

That being said, that was a half a decade ago...and he is mental.

I think Andrew Walter has a bright future but this could stunt his growth...especially when Aaron Brooks pulls an Aaron Brooks.

Jeff George wasnt that good when he was 23 or 33, how the hell old is he now like 40 almost?

My idea is that they are bringing him in to be a mentor to Walter....because they are both big armed QB's

Never great to begin with?? 153 TDs to 120 or so INTs, 27,000+ yds. He put up some good numbers in his career, his one full season in Oakland he went for 29 TDs to 9 picks. I`d be surprised if he can deliver numbers like that again, but obviously the Raiders must be concerned enough with who they`ve got, to go out and sign Jeff.

I wish he would retire already so I can try to sell his rookie card.:sidelol:
His arm is too old and not in football condition. :dolphins:

Hes had 3 above average seasons in his 9 year career. put that along with the ability to make bad decisions at the worst time, hanging on to the ball to long.......he was never great to begin with. hell, he was never even good. he had an average career...

5 years, but who's counting.

I had to take a double take when I saw that on the bottomline last night.

Not defending George or anything, but how could you possibly know that?

For what its worth, Michael Irvin was saying last night that he had talked to him recently and he has stayed in shape and still thinks he can play. Granted thats not saying much.

I think you might be giving him a little to much credit  more like he just had one great season (97) and a poor career

Players like Jeff George disgust me. He had all the physical tools to be one of the best QB's ever (one of the strongest arms I've ever seen...period), unfortunately everything above the shoulders was useless. Wasted talent pisses me off.

I just hope Lamont Jordan will get lots of carries and catches and TD's...he my main FF back. Jeff George had a great arm but always seemed to make poor decisions.

One thing about George; he won't be shy about barking at Brooks when he misses a wide open Moss in the end zone.

Tis ought to be interesting.

For all we know, that might be what Brooks needs.
