Looking at the quarterbacks that were available at that time, Miami was really in a no win situation. Mostly since the best Miami could of done was Kurt Warner and he would of totally sucked behind that line as well.

And a smart GM would have recognized that the talent pool available at QB in that year was ****e and therefore nobody available was worthy of even a 3rd round pick, let alone a 2nd round pick.

Doesn't concern me AS LONG as we keep our 2nd round pick this time around... oh Spielman... :(

he'll beat out detmer. they've been trying to get rid of him for years. they were hoping timmy chang would get it done this year, but i guess he hasn't impressed. feeley will be their #3 easily.

Not sure if it's been posted but....what a crock! Can't believe Wanny gave up a 2nd to Philly for this guy and now they get him back for nothing!
I want my second round pick back!

Wow they got a 2nd round pick for him and 2 years later they get him back. Talk about freebies.

So we give up a 2nd rounder for him, then send him to the Chargers and a pick, then he goes back to the Eagles. Damn we gave up 2 picks for that loser.:shakeno: Well, at least Cleo is still here.

but we did get something from him. Ricky was the best back in the nfl his first yr w/us. He broke franchise records.
I'm not, and will never be embarrassed about the ricky trade. However I just wished dumb & dumber would've negociated the cond 3rd at 2000 yards(not hindsight b/c I felt this way when it went down).

unbelieveable. they trade feely for a 2nd round pick, draft reggie brown with it. then bring back feely for nothing after san diego cuts him. I don't see what they see in this guy but that was profitable trade for him they got Miamis' 2nd for free and even seasoned Feely some more for them.

Wow, Philly's GM is a genius. Gets rid of a backup QB to get a 2nd rounder which was used to nab a starter-quality WR only to get that QB back cheap.

Not only do they get him back but they didn't have to give up a player or a draft pick to get him either......I still can't believe Miami gave up a 2nd round pick for him 2 yrs ago :sidelol:

The patriots did the same with TBucky Jones but it did take 4 yrs for him to return.

The only one who benefits here is AJ's hottie gf, who lives in the Philly area, I think.

I can't wait to see him step in for McNabb. Poor kid.

At least someone wants him, though. They're going off how well he did subbing in the last time they had him. He's been crap since then though.

Wonder if SD will look for a veteran backup to Rivers now.

The link on the Detmer cut for those who mentioned that Feeley couldn't beat out Detmer for the job. Apparently he already has.

Full circle. It just proves that the Eagles were smart back then. The real question is are they being smart now by picking him back up? Not that any of us Fin Fans really care.

That's not worth back to back 1st rd draft picks.
