"NEW YORK (AP) - Five teams, led by the Washington Redskins, have franchise values above $1 billion, according to Forbes magazine's annual survey.

The Redskins have led the list for seven straight years and are worth $1.423 billion, an increase of 13 percent over last year. They have an operating income of $108.4 million, more than double every team except Houston and Tampa Bay.


The New England Patriots rank second in Forbes' calculations at $1.176 billion. They are followed by the Dallas Cowboys at $1.173 billion, the Texans at $1.043 billion, and the Philadelphia Eagles at $1.024 billion."

I just can't believe what the Redskins are doing!! A 13% increase in a year!! That is crazy!! Jerry Jones must be jealous.

The Texans have one of the nicest stadiums ever built. Too bad the team sucks. :lol:

For the Skins, Pats and Cowboys, a lot of that extra money is generated by the large number of media outlets that carry their radio and tv programming to multiple states. Thats something many of the other teams just can't match.

The Dolphins rank 12th in the Forbes Magazine valuation index released Thursday evening. The team's current value is $912 million, according to the publication, with a $33.4 million operating income.
