I know there are a few Seminole fans on this board so post your opinions with me!!!

QB - We have much needed leadership at this position we have been lacking for the past 5 years. Look for Drew to lite it up this year.
RB - We are as good this year as we were last year, maybe even a little better. But can the younger Bowden find a way to get them the ball in open space.
FB - This position is a big plus for us this year. We have a fullback that can come out of the backfield, who has been compared to Edgar Bennett.(Joe Surratt)
WR - We are pretty deep here, even after losing Rouse and O'Neal. Chris Davis and DeCody Fagg need to be able to open up the deep ball for Greg Carr.
TE - This is our youngest position (3 Freshman), but it is dangerous. Caz Piurowski was Weatherford's #1 target in high school. And Brandon Warren was the #1 TE recruit in the nation.
OL - We have more depth this year, which is a plus. And they seem to have more of an attitude about them this year.
DL - This is a question mark unless Andre Fluellen steps up. Paul Griffin will also make some noise.
LB - We are not hurting here as much as people say we are. We played our last two games basically without Sims and Nicholson. Lawrence Timmons is a beast and Geno Hayes has been compared to Derrick Brooks.
DB - We lost a lot of leadership in the secondary, but Tony Carter and J.R. Bryant played well as freshman. But Myron Rolle is going to be a great one.
ST - Gary Cismesia is still our kicker and I've never been to excited about him, he can't seem to handle pressure very well. Graham Gano will take over the punting duties after handling kickoff's last year. Our return game is a big ??? after losing Willie Reid.

OK, give me your best shot. And Nole fans speak up about what you expect this season.

i think our QB, DBs, OL, and TEs are greatly improved. WRs are a year older and are improved IMO(even with losing Reid). With Chris refining his route running, Fagg healthy and hopefully primed to breakout, and of course old Greg going up for them balls deep and in the endzone, we are going to be a dangerous passing offense if Jeff Bowden even gives them a chance.

personally i think we can absolutly make it to the National Championship this year if everything goes right. But tonight is going to be a huge test for a first game. and the UF game will be a big test as well.

what do i expect? National title baby, nothing less.

NorthFloridaFin

We have the making of a dangerous offense. But it all comes down to Jeffy calling the right plays. If we can get by Miami, we have a very legitimate shot at being undefeated when we play Florida.

Also, Antone Smith changed his number to #6 this year. I look for big things from him and Lawrence Timmons this year.

i agree, the championship is in sight although it will be tough, i think smith is gonna have an awsome year running the ball as a #2 and timmons is a badazz, but him and xlee suck at beer pong and i will work them anyday

He won't start tonight, that will go to Anthony Houllis. But nothing but great things have been said about him at practice. He has good ball-hawking skills, soft hands, excellent cover skills and a Genious football I.Q. I'm glad we got him. He will be starting by week 3.

Man what a game!!! I told everybody we wouldn't be hurting for defense @ the LB position. Buster Davis is the man, and Geno Hayes solidified himself as a top tier linebacker last night, and he's only a sophmore.

I never really root for a rival either, But I say myself rooting for two of our biggest rivals this weekend the Vols (Becuase I want them to be ranked higher when the Gators play them and for all those ppl who think the Pac-10 is just as Strong as the SEC. Its not just as strong now SHUT UP!!!!) and FSU (becuase I actually thought they would win and I really don't like the Hurricanes at all!!!). Just a weird weekend and yeah I can't wait to make it three in a row!

Side Note: I can't wait til the Gators and Hurricanes renew there rivalry and start playing again. Go Gators!

i love the way our defense played. but there is 1 thing i worry about.

Roger Williams.

Kid has some skills, and i thought he would be good this year. but he choked on some plays last night, played with zero passion, and alot of times was like a deer caught in the head lights. i HOPE he was just extremely nervous, cause if not, that could be a problem for us.

with the LBs we had last year, i didnt think this years corps would be better. But Donte didnt play great last year, so i believe thats an easy upgrade. Buster and Gino played insane. Timmons played solid. didnt make any huge plays like i expected, but he played good. Our DLine was really impressive, that was a worry coming in, but those boys are nasty down there, im excited about them.

Williams, the guy who had his eyes on that interception the whole time and dropped the ball right?

yea, he had an easy INT, and he studdered and then slipped and fell. Mickey was getting in his *** for that play. big plays are what win defensive struggles, and he had a oppritunity and failed to make it.

I knew we were going to be a good team, but we stepped it up another notch by winning in the orange Bowl. With the remaining schedule we have, we have a legitimate shot @ being undefeated when the Gators come to town. We owe them big time from that barn-yard wooping they gave us last year.

What exactly is your definition of fluke? You can call it whatever you want, looking past the Gators to the ACC Championship Game seems to be the most popular excuse. It was no "fluke" that the Noles got their *** handed to them, plain and simple.

Let's just hope our offense can get on track today. We need to come out firing. Last year was the same scenerio vs. The Citadel, we started real slow and were down 10-3 late in the 2nd qtr before we got on track. Maybe we can establish a ground game today, which would be great.

That' s OK, talk it up while you can. And then come see us after you lose 2 out of the next 3 ball games. We definately underestimated Troy, but that's not saying they didn't play great. Troy probably played the best game of their lives last night on top of us trying to give them the ball game.

But the great thing about this year, is that most 'Nole fans understand that we are probably still a year away from another NC. We are just taking it game to game and seeing what happens. While you Gator fans realize that you either need to put up or shut up this year. But we won, I'll take 2-0 right now. no. thats not what i said. alot of things went into that game being that close.

1. FSU didnt play good and played without passion.

2. Troy played pretty much perfect football up until the end.

3. FSU got out coached clearly.

its clear we had a hangover from the UM game just 5 days ago. Troy also rose to the occasion though. even then though, had we not played a bad game, it wouldnt of been close even if they did play perfect the hole game.

Our defense took a big hit agaisnt Troy...:shakeno:

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State defensive tackle Paul Griffin will miss the rest of the season because of a torn ligament in his left knee.

Griffin was on crutches after hurting his knee in the Seminoles' 24-17 win over Troy on Saturday.

He transferred to Florida State in January after two seasons at Butler Community College, and earned a starting position after an impressive spring and fall camp.

"He was our second best defensive lineman," coach Bobby Bowden said. "He did well in the spring and fall, and in the first ball game."

Griffin's injury, coupled with the loss of second team defensive tackles Emmanuel Dunbar (back) and Letroy Guion (right ankle), leaves Florida State thin on the interior line.

Defensive line coach Odell Haggins said freshman Kendrick Stewart will start alongside Andre Fluellen this weekend. Freshman Justin Mincey, who spent time at tackle during fall camp, has moved from defensive end to tackle to help aid the team's depth.

Linebacker Derek Nicholson sprained his right ankle against Troy, but practiced Monday. He was expected to play Saturday against Clemson.
