Scrambling down the right sideline, starting to give himself up with a slide, and Cincinnati's Robert Geathers got blocked into him as he hit the ground. The back of Green's head slammed against the field and he immediately went out. He has not moved since the hit.

Damon Huard is probably going to be the starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.

Damn he's my fantasy QB. Dang that's really too bad for Trent, I hope he is okay. And man what a blow to KC.

It was not illegal because the Cincinnati player got blocked into Green.

Palmer sharp in return, Bengals top Chiefs

Carson Palmer is all the way back and sharp as ever.

Sharper, maybe. Exactly eight months to the day after doctors rebuilt his mangled left knee, Palmer hit nine straight passes in one impressive stretch in Cincinnati’s 23-10 victory over Kansas City, which lost quarterback Trent Green to injury.

Green, motionless on the field, was carefully wheeled off on a stretcher after his head was snapped back to the ground on a hit by Robert Geathers. Green was in a feet-first hook slide when Geathers came crashing in and hit him in the chest and head with his right shoulder.

The hit occurred on the sideline right in front of the Chiefs bench. There was no penalty on the third-quarter tackle, and the game was delayed 11 minutes while Green was taken away.

A Chiefs spokesman said later that Green was conscious and had feeling in his extremities, but no memory of the hit.

From 2001-2005, Green passed for more yards (16,334) than any quarterback in the NFL but Peyton Manning. With 4,014 yards last year, he became just the fourth quarterback in NFL history to post three straight 4,000-yard seasons.

I saw this while watching the Jets vs Titans game, and wow, that was a pretty big hit he took. Sorry to hear about this.

With that said, bring in Brodie Croyle, see what the future looks like. Sorry, but even if they get Billy Volek or put in Damon Huard, they won't win without Trent Green.

he might want to slide a little earlier next time.

Looked kinda like a late hit If you ask me...but again I only saw it once.

It was a clean hit. The KC guy pushed him into Green.

Ahh, that is so mean but funny. Yea Trent Green got rocked. His head hit the ground so hard, it made me get a headache. I hope he recovers and continues to play.
