View Full Version : Pitt loss IMPROVED our chances of a S-BOWL!!!!!

Since the merger the two teams in the superbowl has had at least one loss 79 out of 80 times. This means a team with at least one or more losses has a better chance of making it than a undefeated one. Now that we have our one loss out of the way, we can win the rest of them without fear of falling into that dreaded undefeated jinx.
I think Nick knew this and would have rather lost the first game and then go 15-1 rather than lose one late and only be on a 2 or 3 games winning streak to end the season. This is why he went easy on Pitt, he told his team we will make sure we are good enough to win by getting a lead in the 4th and then give them the game to get by the jinx. MAN this guy is brillant. Think about it, as soon as we got the lead we quit playing for the rest of the game on both offense and defense. Now we know why :cooldude:

Actually undefeated teams have a 100% winning percentage in the superbowl while teams with a loss have a 50% historical chance of winning

i think a hard fought battle resulting in a loss to the Champs due to our own mistakes may be just what the doctor ordered after all that hype. Should put our team in the right mindset.....
