Omg I just saw it. That kills the Sooners season. He still is a top 5 pick.

Didn't he get hurt last season too? That raises some serious durability concerns. I'm not even sure he'll declare now.

he'll declare. and he runs upright, so hes going to get knicked up....problem is he gets so many damn carries. they won 34-9 today and he got 26 carries still.

I've broken my collar bone, what really hurt was when the doctor had to"set" the bone back in place.I was a kid when I broke it ,but has never bothered me since.Hopefully Adrian can possibly make back by bowl game time.

I've never broken my collarbone, but I have dislocated my shoulder (a few times) and let me tell you, the dislocation pain is NOTHING compared to popping it back in place :boohoo:

Sorry to hear that. Looks like his heismen chances are over. And he was only 150 yards away from breakin the record for most running yards for OU.

the W-L record of no illinois never had anything to do with his heisman chances. the fact that he had only 25 yards on 18 carries is what hurts the most.

This not only screws up his Heisman, as he was almost running away with it. But it screws up his draft as well.

His entire college career, he's been injury prone. Makes you wonder if he will ever be healthy for the next level.

he's still a top 5 pick.

If he was smart he would take his time getting back and not play in the Bowl Game and just get ready for the combine, he has to think about his future and be selfish and start think of him not Oklahoma.

Heisman candidate breaks collarbone after TD in front of ex-prisoner dad

Adrian Peterson weaved around the line, dodged a tackler and broke into the clear before diving across the goal line.

The Heisman hopeful’s latest spectacular touchdown run might turn out to be his last in Norman.

Playing in a college game with his father in the stands for the first time, Peterson broke his collarbone at the end of the 53-yard gallop that finished off No. 23 Oklahoma’s 34-9 victory over Iowa State on Saturday.

He is expected to miss the rest of the regular season, although he could return for a bowl game (http://www.srch-results.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=77&k=bowl%20game). The junior tailback is eligible to enter the NFL draft after this season and he’d likely be a first-round pick.

“He made a nice cut, made a great play. He made a bunch of great ones,” Sooners offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson said. “Hopefully that won’t be his last.”

Peterson was injured with about 6:35 left in the game when he landed hard on his shoulder after falling into the end zone. He got right up and trotted off the field, but with his left arm dangling across the front of his body.
