Congrats to the Cards on beating the Mets, BUT the Tigers will win in 4 or 5 tops.

Going from Glavine/Trachsel/Perez/Maine to Robertson/Roaster/Verlander/Bonderman is tough. The Tigers can be beat because I don't think their lineup is all that great. So much for momentum meaning anything in baseball.

Hooray for Jeff "Cambells CHUNKY" Suppan!

I know how good the Mets are, but i really hate them more than any other baseball team, and when they fail it brings a smile to my face.

St. Louis has a shot in this series with Detroit, but i STILL think the Tigers win in 6.

I once pitied the Mets more than anything but after they dethroned my Braves I really don't like them. If they would have made the series I probably would have rooted for the AL for the first time.

I will find great joy if the Cards find a way to win this thing.
All I heard before the series started was, "Is there even a point to playing this thing?" The AL is so good, any NL team will be out in 4 or 5 games....

after looking at the forecast.........what will happen first. Game 4 or Halloween Night??

God Bless LaRussa if he wins this thing. It would exercise a lot (not all) of deamons for him and his postseason lack of success. Taking a team with 83 wins and winning a world series is an acomplishment.

I just have 1 question.............why the hell is this guy wearing SUNGLASSES during all of these night games??? It's friggin 8, 9, 10pm at night and he is wearing sunglasses. What's the deal????

Wow the Cards shocked the world tonight. Who's this Jeff Weaver guy? Didn't he get released this year?

A freaky little stat:

2001 WS Champ: DBacks (NL West)
2002 WS Champ: Angels (AL West)
2003 WS Champ: Marlins (NL East)
2004 WS Champ: Red Sox (AL East)
2005 WS Champ: ChiSox (AL Central)
2006 WS Champ: Cards (NL Central)

Good for LaRussa. Im not a huge LaRussa guy. I think he his highly overrated. He has had a lot of heartbreaks though and he deserves this one. Good for him

Yes, he was released after his brother was brought up from Triple A and earned a spot with the Angles by goin like 9-0 in his first 13 starts. I guess Jeff can thank Jared for takin his spot and gettin him released to be signed by the World Series Champs, LOL.

David Eckstien has just become one of my favorite players. That dude is like the Cards Wes Welker. Every team needs a David Eckstien.

It's awesome to see the mighty AL succumb to the lowely NL. I'm sure this won't change anyone's mind, but it nice none the less

Yeah I know I was being sarcastic. I'm just shocked that Weaver put his stuff together for 3 weeks in a row and pitched nothing but near gems. I just remember how bad he was with the Yankees and Angels.

This is why baseball is so great. Who would have thought Kenny Rogers, Oliver Perez and Jeff Weaver would do anything good in the playoffs. It's a complete mystery.
