New York City police sources tell ESPN's Jeremy Schaap that Boston Celtics guard Sebastian Telfair is being investigated for a possible role in the shooting of rapper Fabolous.

Skylar John Jackson, 28, also known as Fabolous, was shot and wounded in the left thigh Monday night outside of Justin's, a New York club owned by hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs. Telfair was outside of the same club Monday night, and the shooting occurred shortly after a $50,000 chain was ripped from Telfair's neck.

Telfair was observed making a phone call after the chain was stolen.

"We're investigating whether there's a connection between the reported robbery and the shooting," New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne told The Associated Press.

After the incident, four men, including Fabolous, were arrested and charged with having unregistered, loaded weapons in their SUV.

On Tuesday night, Telfair viewed four police lineups that included Fabolous and his three companions, but he was unable to identify any suspects.

Yeah, not enough uncle tom's and beach boys in the NBA, right?

Get the **** outta here. What Telfair does is his own responsibility, not the entire league's.

C'mon man, don't be naive. The dots have been connected. It's known that the guy who jacked Telfair's chain was one of Fab's associates and then Fab is shot later and his boys are shot at. Your going to tell me Telfair had nothing to do with it despite growing up 20 minutes away in Brooklyn? Like I said, the dots have been connected by the police but since no one's talking the police can't officially do anything (which I understand why no one is talking, it's the code of the streets). I'm not going to knock Telfair on ths one though. If someone jacked my 50 K chain I'd be trying to shoot someone my damn self. Not that I condone that type of action but I also see why he would do what he had to do!

By the way Mindwarp, you shouldn't believe everything the media says but I'm sure whoever wrote the story talked to police officers and got the police report and information straight from the police so it's not as if this story was just concocted because Fab and Telfair were in the same place at the same time. There's something to this story. It might not be the exact truth of what happened but I'd place a bet it's pretty damn close to the truth!

I'm not going to call Telfair a thug but I understand where Mike is coming from. Homeyboy gets involved in this incident and homeboy got caught with a gun ON A TEAM PLANE. I'm not saying this means anything but can you blame anyone for thinking he's a thug with these incidents under his belt? And all you out there trying to say that he had nothing to do with the Fab incident I must once again stress to you that the media DID NOT MAKE THIS UP. The Daily News here in NY has spoken to plenty of police, have seen the police reports, and have spoken to some anonymous sources regarding the case. The reason why the story is not confirmed is because no one is speaking which I understand because it's the code of the streets. The police know what happened but with nobody willing to talk, there is nothing they can do. It's like when Busta Rhyme's security guard was killed. Everyone saw what happened and people know who did it. It's just everyone is following street code and that is why no arrest has been made!

Ain't that the truth, lets be thankful Telfair didn't play at the "U".

Better yet, lets label him a thug because he was at a club which couldn't be more than 15 minutes away from the city he grew up in his whole life. His chain got jacked and he was on the phone. EVERYTHING else is ALL speculation. He went back home in the offseason and he went to a club, people who don't like the areas that some NBA players grow up in dont have to watch the NBA, stick to watching players and sports with predomintely suburb raised athletes which by popular consensus is "away" from the so called "thug" activity.

NO. Just the guys who are involved in shootings, murders, attacking fans, bench clearing brawls where helmets and crutches are swung. Guys who punch their wives/girlfriends, get caught selling or doing drugs.

Just those guys!! :D
