That's the spirit Panzer! Let's start our own business selling hot cakes. People love hot cakes, they must! When something sells good, it's said to be selling like hot cakes! So we'll just skip the middle man and sell hot cakes! Hot cakes, hot cakes, hot cakes!

panzereeto, if I had connections in the Carolinas, I would do anything/everything I could to help you. But alas, much like a girl to some of our fellow posters, I am of no use.

Do keep me abreast of the situation. I will double up my p0rn sending efforts if that is any consolation??

just got off the phone with the junior programmer who worked with me
our department had two main apps that we developed...on my team, him and my program manager were retained for the time being...the other team (3 programmers, 1 product manager, and a tech guy) were all let go today as well

basically 2 years ago my original co. was bought by a competitor...which means that they had their own versions of the same software applications...they have been trying to convert our customers to use their software and they have only been about 50% successful after two years...i guess they figured they would go ahead and bite the bullet and remove all the development resources to force the remaining customers to switch or just go ahead and let the accounts go

our industry (well i guess it aint my industry no more!) is dependent on the residential housing market, which is not doing too good right now so they are trying to cut costs and remove duplication in the company (the company is spread out across the states, they shut down an engineering design office in Tampa recently too)

You're right, not funny. I got laid off from a different company. I was a defense contractor, alot of people are losing their jobs around here because of the war in Iraq. So at least I can say I lost my job so an iraqi could vote.
