not bad, you got one of the best defensive SS in the game. You should be ok with the lack of offensive production since you have alot of good hittesr in the lineup already

damn that means the redsox sort of HAVE to get Lugo now, no other SS's really out there besides him.

Is this official? Did reds sign him? Cant find an official link....

"The Reds are trying to find a shortstop, and GM Wayne Krivsky declined to comment on reports the Reds were close to an agreement with Alex Gonzalez, who hit .255 with nine homers for Boston last season.
(Updated 11/20/2006)."

Be ready to get very frustrated with his offensive numbers. His defense is second to none but there are long stretches where he doesnt look like a major league hitter.

Its official:

Gonzalez agreed to a three-year deal with a mutual option for 2010.

Alex Gonzalez is a great defensive SS. Web Gem Nominee every night ;) ... his offense is lacking at times, but he CAN whack them out of the park. I still remember him here in FLA and when he was on boy was he on....my fav. memory is the Game 4 of the WS against the Yankees. That Walk off HomeRun...was priceless.

Great hitters on the Reds? We're talking about this year right and not 1975?
