View Full Version : Ohio State #1 in Football AND....

OSUDauby

soon to be #1 in Basketball?!

After UF's meltdown and North Carolina's loss, Ohio State could be #1 in both sports. Not to mention, OSU is playing without their best player, Greg Oden. Come December/January Ohio State will continue their march towards world domination!!!

Big test this Wednesday as OSU heads to UNC and then later to UF.

Ummm, no it's not...I stated, Ohio State #1 in football....and in basketball.

I know that Ohio State plays like professionals, BUT they are still COLLEGE FOOTBALL players.

Fin Kat, this is your invitation to join the bandwagon.

UF's meltdown? They lost to a top-10 team in overtime by 2 points. A game in which they trailed by 4 with 15 seconds left. How is that a meltdown? It was a comeback if anything.

I work for UF and go to alot of UF games, i think if i want to join up as a friend of the university that should be my right. ohh dang, there goes that material. by the way, basketball is a long season and last i remember, UF is still king of the mountain.

Have you seen all of the posts where he is making fun of UF for having the availability of an Allumni Association to the public for $40. He goes on and on in multiple threads, and even PMd some of our Gators about it. It must have sank his heart to realize that OSU does the same thing

It's crap posts like this that make it very difficult to respect you. I love Finheaven because of so many level headed posters, and it's ability to foster an intelligent debate. Instead of anything resembling that, you insist on starting a thread with smack. I can only assume you never wanted any real discussion, and only wanted to act like a child. I hope you are enjoying the direction of this thread. You reap what you sow.

Playing w/o Oden means little right now as OSU has played no one yet. OSU was ranked high to start the season and beat the bad teams they played, that's why they are #1 but they play the team that has beaten more #1'a than anyone else this Wednesday so the stay at the top will be short.

IF so

It was a fantastic first half from the Bucks. Their freshman are WOW. Their outside shooting is outstanding. We couldnt stop UNC's big men. Ohio ST lacks the defense right now. I think once we get Oden up and going we shouldnt have a problem. What a game it was tonight though.

OSU was unconscious shooting from 3, that has been our biggest problem on D. It would be one thing if the 3's were contested but w give up way too many wide open looks and if OSU can shoot anywhere close to that w/ Oden they will be dificult to beat.

We are still a work in progress, I see signs. we play tough D in spurts. If the Heels can play better D more consistently I don't know if we can be beat but when they start playing soft D and giving up too many open looks we can be beat like we were against Gonzaga.

Ohio St defense is awful. I'm surprised they were able to keep up. Its good thing they got rolling early. They came out flat footed in the second half and allowed UNC to go on a 8 or 9-0 run.

OSU was contesting UNC's shots at leats while on the other end OSU had a million wide open looks.

They couldnt stop the inside scoring. Thats what killed us. One thing I noticed was when UNC made a big 3 Ohio St went down the floor and hit a 3 to quiet the crowd down for atleast 1 possesion

OSU was outstanding from 3 but we helped by not defending the 3. Thta's a preview of what it will be like w/ Oden when D's have to worry about doubling and tripling him your 3 pt shooters will have open looks and if they can shoot anywhere close to as good as they shot last night OSU will not lose many games.

NC had more depth. You have to give Ohio St some credit. Ohio St only had 8 active players so considering that and the foul trouble early they did a good job.
